I haven’t thought Mayer’s recent lyrics are really any better than Dave’s,

“I'm the boy in your other phone
Lighting up inside your drawer at home all alone
Pushing 40 in the friend zone
We talk and then you walk away every day“

Cringey enough if you ask me, and his newest single really isn’t anything groundbreaking at all. No doubt Dave has been absolute atrocious lyrically though now for almost a decade.

A decade? Closer to 2 at this point. Mayer won me over with Born and raised. Just a fantastic album. And in the blood is better than anything dave has written since? 2004?

I don't think that song was meant to be groundbreaking. You've seen the video, right?

Not really a Mayer fan, but bought this live album at a flea market sealed for $1 today.

Having now heard that album, I am now fully convinced Mayer desperately wants to be able to write a love song as awesome as Crush.

When is this dude going to put out a proper live album from this last tour. Had a killer band behind him.

I was just thinking about this the other day. Is his last live release really from 2008?

He should at least put out one of those live Continuum sets.

Indeed. And maybe throw in a few of those Dead covers too.

The visuals have been awesome the last two tours as well, would have made awesome blu rays.

Agreed.

Last summer especially is when the backdrop pastels really took shape.
