I seriously, seriously, doubt there will be a 4g iphone this year. AT&T is nowhere close to having a 4g network up and running and I don't think they would make a 4g phone just for Verizon.

It doesn't have to be fully ready for them to sell 4G ready phones.

I realize that, but that's not how Apple usually operates

What other circumstance has happened in the past that would be a similar situation to lead you to believe that?

It's no secret that phone carriers are pushing 4G... and iPhone is touted as "one of the best"... people ask them about it all the time. They wanna keep up, no?

They don't need to keep up, they have a cult following that buys anything with an Apple on it. If Apple had any plans of pushing out 4g products the iPad 2 would have had the capability. Apple likes to do a ton of testing before they release products and there just isn't any reason for them to add that capability to the phone at this point. It would be bad business really for them to announce a 4g version for verizon after they just started selling the iphone 4.

My money is on a 4g iphone in 2012. The new model this year will probably be just a faster, thinner version that also comes in white. Probably a couple other new features also.

Regardless, a new iPhone will be coming soon. Which is all I was trying to say. As soon as it was announced that Verizon would be getting the iPhone, every single article mentioned how people would be pissed as soon as the new iPhone came in. I wouldn't put it past them. They put out new products all the time.

I'm not sure Apple could release anything right now that could get me off an Android device. I always thought I wanted an iphone until I got a Droid.

Just as further evidence, this is from boygeniusreport.com on March 3..

Quote:
Speaking at the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference today, China Mobile’s Chairman, Wang Jianzhou, let go an interesting tidbit of Apple information. “Jobs has expressed his interest in an LTE iPhone and is willing to start the development at an early date,” said the Chairman. China Mobile currently runs a TD-LTE network in mainland China, but the invisible line we’re drawing from the words “LTE iPhone” leads directly to *drumroll* Verizon Wireless and AT&T. Apple has, historically, been slow to adopt new cellular radios into its flagship product — we’re referencing, of course, how long it took for 3G to make its way into the iPhone. We’re sure as June draws nearer, we’ll get a better idea of what Apple has up its sleeve for its next phone.

Same here. I'm a Sprint user, so could never (and still couldnt) get an iPhone. So I opted for the EVO 4G and I have loved everything about it. I do use Apple products though, alot.

I love Apple products...their arrogance annoys me sometimes though.

I really don't get the arrogant vibe from Apple. Maybe some of its users... but I genuinely enjoy watching their keynotes, and really at this point, they talk the talk when it comes to the products they put out.

Apple is a cocky company, no doubt, but they can back it up. I just wonder what will happen to the company if Jobs cannot come back, god forbid.
