.

I'm not really impressed. I think this is a record that will have to grow on me, but it certainly sounds more like a side project than a Foo Fighters album to me for some reason.

I liked it after giving it the once through, but need to check it out again. I think Dave shot himself in the foot but mass marketing this as an album that was to be influenced by the various cities during the recording process and then not delivering on that promise other than the lyrics, which as I understand have been lifted directly from some of the interviews with the artists in a given city (which is kinda lame IMO).

Dave needs to just write a kickass Foo record without the gimmicks. This is 4 straight albums with a gimmick. I find it kinda stupid, honestly.

Maybe Gene Simmons was right. Maybe rock is dead. That's a sad thought.

Wait, we're listening (or even paying attention) to Gene Simmons now?! The apocalypse can't be far off then.

The fact that anyone would ever listen to the biggest idiot in the most overrated band in history is worrying.

Rock isn't dead. Sure it doesn't have a large mainstream presence, but there are a ton of great rock acts out there these days. Just have to know where to find them.

Part of the problem is that the majority of the rock bands that have a mainstream presence are fucking awful. But yeah, scratch the surface and the good ones are there.

The "How Is There Not a Foo Fighters Thread Already?!" Thread

I shouldn't say that I don't like the album. Half the tracks are good. I always have trouble with first listens, so I'm sure that I will enjoy it more after a few more listens.

As far as first listens, I get that...some do some don't. I'm can usually tell from first listen what grabs me and what doesn't. Like I said elsewhere, I think Subterranean was the only one I'd actually skip.
