20th Anniversary - Remember Two Things

I guess we missed this? Perhaps it was mentioned in another thread and I'm the only one that missed it.

10/13 was the official realease date, but today marks the 20th Anniversary of the RTT Release Party show

Speaking of important DMB 'moments' and all....

First time I popped that in i wondered if the snare hits would ever stop. Anybody got a list of the dates for the live performances on that disc?

"Ants Marching" and "Tripping Billies" were recorded at The Muse in Nantucket, Massachusetts, on August 17, 1993. "Recently" was recorded at The Flood Zone in Richmond, Virginia on August 10, 1993.

ripped that from wikipedia. Basically, the other "live" songs are noted that way as a technicality. It may never be known when or where they were recorded... other than in a bathroom....

It's funny you say that, b/c I always remember playing this for my brother-in-law in '94 in my car, I said "you gotta hear this band" or something, and put this on, and at some point during the long snare intro, he gave a sarcastic "yeah, this is great"

I don't listen to this album enough. Just finished it though. Forgot how much I love that Seek Up outro.

20 years. Does that mean they'll be eligible for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 5 years?

God, I remember driving my dad crazy to drive me to the Circuit City in Nashua, NH to get this on cd (i lived in Lowell, MA) bc it was on sale for $9.99, and it was available nationally. I think it was the end of 1993 / beginning of 1994. I was in 7th grade. Great memories.

Can anyone confirm when RTT was sold in major retailers? I feel it was during this time. I remember bc I was in either 7th or 8th grade.

EDIT: I just talked to my dad, he thinks it was either in 1995 or 1996. I might be wrong.

after seeing the band at MSG in 2005, I drove back to DC after the concert. I had RTT on repeat... I think I listened to it almost 5 times.

This was the last album I got. I don't remember specifically getting my first one an RCA version. But it was summer 1998. I brought it into work to look at the book in the fall and thought I lost it. When I was in Evanston for the United Center 1998 show, we walked into a Mom and Pops store just off campus and I bought a replacement. Turns out it was a Bama Rags, so when I found my RCA one like a week later (obv.) I had both and it was fine.

According to Wiki it was reissued by RCA June 24, 1997. I got mine late 94-early 95 and I couldn't find it anywhere at that time so I just ordered it from the merch booklet that came with UTTAD.

I had to dig through some shit at my place and the cd is bama rags. So I had to get uttad at circuit city and go uttad and recently through the flyer in uttad.
