I listened to their EP. It’s good. Not original in the slightest, but still solid blues-rock in a way that’s not getting much traction right now. All the pieces are there, they just need to get a little more of their own personality in it.

Agreed. I checked 'em out on Spotify after some of the love on here. Totally derivative.

The great musical brains over at Fox News are continuing to piss themselves for attention, stretching out this Radiohead debacle way past its logical end. Basically if you're unfamiliar with the situation (lucky you), a comedian named Kat Timpf appeared on the network's Greg Gutfeld Show earlier this month, discussing the nominations this year's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony. During that appearance, she called Radiohead "just elaborate moaning and whining over ringtone sounds." She also said that the men she dates are "trange, malnourished, and sad," and commented that they always like Radiohead. It was very droll. There was a whole thing. Jonny Greenwood changed his Twitter bio. The end.

Except, not the end, because it got a bunch of press coverage and this is Fox News. Timpf has since appeared on the show again, suggesting that she should go as a Radiohead fan for Halloween, based on her previous description. Host Greg Gutfeld then saw this as his moment to really Weigh In, stating the following, which I am going to block quote because it is so monumental:

"You know, Radiohead is a fine band, but they stole everything from Coldplay. Like Radiohead is the poor man's Coldplay."

Sounds like sarcasm. Greg Gutfeld ran the magazine Stuff for a number of years, he should know Coldplay came out in the 00s.

Apparently Bono wrote this for his daughters. As someone said on a U2 fan site, Bono is too literal now. He used to write more poetically.

Last night Sturgil Simpson spent the evening busking on the street outside the Country Music Awards, and donated all the money he raised to the ACLU. Because he’s awesome.

I just saw that Paul Buckmaster died a couple days ago. He was a great arranger. He was 71.

edit: Wow. He also did the orchestral arrangements for Harry Nilsson's version of Without You.

I didn't know Sturgill Simpson only intends on making 5 albums. Interesting.

Malcolm Young has died from complications of dementia. He was 64.

I was never a big AC/DC fan beyond the hits, but I like what I've heard.

Oh damn. Also not much of an AC/DC fan (especially after the Bon Scott era), but you can’t question their impact, and they’ve got a bunch of great songs.

Some of this is a rehash from Songs of Innocence's Volcano.

Morrissey makes a couple valid points. But the rest?
