Just out of curiosity, what do you recommend for a killer (preferably live) reggae album? I think the only reggae I have are Legend (sorry ) Marley Live, and Peter Tosh "Legalize It"
Take a listen to this - I can't think of a better introduction for a DMB fan. If you like the really long segues DMB did in the early days, you are gonna love live reggae. It is taken from this - [Only registered users can see links.]

If you are interested, I'd be more than happy to up a couple SBDs tonight. They really blow everything officially released out of the water.

In terms of studio albums- I'd check out Exodus and Uprising. They are the type of albums you won't skip a single track. Alot of Legend is sourced from them too!

I'll check it out later (based on the huge blank space, I'm thinking you embedded something, but it's not showing on my iPad)

and, yeah, I'm a dirty whore for good segues

I was on the Almanac just now for some other reason, and next thing I know I was looking at the live releases of Grey Street. Such a shame that of its 24 official releases, only 3 are pre-2002 (and only 2 more from '02).

Complete bullshit that they released Angel from 8/3/01 on WH8V2 instead of Grey Street from that show. That is arguably the best Grey Street ever.

I've worked in large companies for the past decade and the one constant is that management teams are often times clueless as to the problems that go on directly in front of them. Decisions are often driven by hidden agendas, poor change management and laziness. It's a fact and it applies to DMB.

kinda neat to see Roi speaking and making the crowd laugh at Storytellers 2005.

I can't for the life of me decide if I like Sugar Will more with Butch or with Tim. I enjoy both versions so freakin much. In the '04 ones, the peak of Roi's jams when the band would get into sync (can't think how to describe it) is one of my favorite pieces of music the band has ever done. On the other hand, Tim laying down that aggressive jazz grove coupled with Ross is just... perfect.

Great fuckin song.

I really hope one of the August ones about Roi gets a nod. Some of them were pretty damn haunting.

Agree totally. I love the SU bonus disc version.

But I also dig the new vocals dave did and rashawn/tim on the outro.

Great song.

SU bonus has to be one of my most listened to live songs by them. When I think of Roi I really think of that version, that was some of my favorite stuff by him

Never saw the video for it, awesome. Those blue video effects always forget about them

Almost forgot about the cheese Butch added to Sugar Will.

Take the keyboard out and add a guitar and the '04 style of Sugar Will would maybe my favorite between '04 & '08/'10.

As it stands I like the '08/'10 version better.

I do not care what anyone says, Sugar Will needs that piano touch to be itself. 9.3.04 is perfect

Sidenote: did anyone notice in the piedmont park dvd that Stay has a copyright of 2002? What the hell is that about?

'04 versions for me, but I hear you on the Timmy stuff from the newer versions. Good song either way.

Forgot about that effect they used on the vid screens during Sugar Wll. I always did like that for some reason. If I could relive that Great Woods N2 show from that year I would. First time I heard all those new songs and it was badass, still a top 5 show for me.

The rhythm is just perfection. Ideal studio for me would be Dave, Tim, Carter, Stefan, and a keyboard laying down that solid and allowing a bunch of layers to build up throughout it similar to '04. I still think it would be the greatest closing song on an album if they really let it breathe like Proudest Monkey

Ideal studio for me would be to go back in time, prevent Batson from becoming their producer, and record it in Fall '04 with the lineup that killed it from the beginning.
