Man, seek up is my favorite song, and I haven't heard this version from 11.26.93, wow!

Easily the best pre-'95 performance of the song, hands down. With 2/4/94 close behind.

I'm trying to use Azureus which always works for me with FLAC. Not this time though, it comes up as if it's supposed to play on my itunes.

You play FLAC's with Azureus? Hmmmm. I didn't know that was possible when I was using Azureus a couple years go. I play mine with winamp when I just want to listen to them. When I want to convert them I use [Only registered users can see links.] . I used to [Only registered users can see links.] so I know that one works. Neither of those are free though.

[Only registered users can see links.] will convert them for free... There are quite a few others that are free as well.

Listening through this and hearing the band evolve, re-evolve, and evolve again has been fantastic. What a listen. The whole thing has made me not only appreciate Roi more but the band in general. Can't wait to see what they play next week. Thanks guys.

a solo from roi from the 12/31/93 show. the prelude to satellite i THINK. i just thought it was a nice way to end the "standard" part of the comp.

disc 9 (and maybe disc TEN) will be a little different.

I know this is like heresay...but I'm gonna say it anyways...

Roi of the early 90's w/ the creativity and freedom he had...would give a modern day Coffin a run for his money. (different styles yes I know)

Can you imagine if Roi had kept that kind of playing up?

This isn't heresy, this is the truth. Roi in his jazz days had great soul, great emotion. While Coffin has better technique, and a much better ear (he can hear something and play it, no questions Roi couldn't do that as well...that's a gift that most musicians don't have), he lacks the soul, the intangible quality that Roi had. It carried into his playing in later years, but it was always there in the early days.

Jeff can play with sweetness, with a certain amount of soft emotion, but he has more fire. Always has been that way. He has an ability to replicate some of Roi's moments, but that's not Jeff. What he does on Jimi Thing, YMDT, and Squirm, that's Jeff. And Roi never would have played like that.
