She and Come On Come On are both bad songs. The other songs compensate though.

I feel like VITR / BNBB haven't gotten enough play time this year to really know how they are going to shake out.

Funny, didn’t even see NiCK’s post before my last post but pretty much have agreed with him on all things CT

Odd because I am pretty sure I couldn’t have disagreed with him more circa 2004

More than anything, the lack of content in these songs becomes brutally apparent live. I can see why people enjoy the album - mellow, subtle, inoffensive. Live, along with the clear vocal strain, theres just not much meat on the bones. Come on come on is the prime offender. It wants to be epic and soaring, and its just... not.

I still wish this album had simply been an archival double release to catch them up on unreleased material since 2000 -with all the good bad and ugly, so that now this could feel like a fresh start, rather than pushing an album that just doesnt move the needle (even though, relatively, they are only playing 4-6 per show).

I have a gut feeling that it was going to have a pretty big “bonus” disc that would have been a lot of the songs we are clamoring for, but they may have been either Boyd heavy or featured him more than they could edit out of the tracks without completely reconfiguring the songs.

Do we know if Boyd was in the studio with them at all for this album at any point? Or during the prior sessions the last few years?

I think the only thing they could have done to make it worse would be squeezing it all in a single LP. Save your money for BTCS, which will be done right (if nothing changes)

Still loving the studio album , but agree some of these live haven’t found their way. COCO is one of my favs on the album but woof, live.

I think they all have good live versions, save for COCO. Here on Out is what it is. When Iím Weary hasnít been played (Dave couldnít even remember the name of it during the Stern interview so not holding my breath for that one)

Hard to duplicate all those strings live, I guess.

Awful live. Its a shame it doesnt look like Jones was taped because that was probably the only version that had any meat on its bones.

This album will probably go the way like AFTW did. In a few years, none of these songs are going to be played live except maybe Samurai Cop.

My current rankings after 20+ listens:

Again and Again (the only track where I'll sometimes repeat a listen)
Come On Come On
She (tons of room for this monster to grow in a live setting!)
Black and Blue Bird
Virginia In the Rain (my favorite at first, but now I'm finding it tiring)
Do You Remember
That Girl Is You (guilty pleasure and my 7 year old daughter loves it)
Samurai Cop
Here on Out
The Idea of You (live intro is just perplexing)
Come Tomorrow
Can't Stop (hate the Beast!)
When I'm Weary (does absolutely nothing for me - it makes me Weary)

I'm ranking it slightly ahead of AFTW and BWTGGK, for now anyway. We shall see how this one stands the test of time. I very rarely find myself going back to either AFTW or BW, but do enjoy them when I do.

Agree with what many have said - good studio album. Live, not so much.

Again and Again actually peaked the night it debuted in Cville. It's been all down hill since.

Come On Come On is just not a good song.

Man, besides the obvious blip, the studio IOY is pretty great. Just cranked it up and Carter sounds awesome. Roi is spot on. The beginning doesn’t bother me at all. Solid solid tune.

Seems like a lot of people have widely varying opinions on the songs on this album. Most like Again and Again, but aside from that, everyone's all over the place. Come Tomorrow is still the worst song on the album to me.

Tier 1- Again and Again, BBB, IOY

Tier 2 - VITR, Come On Come On, She, Do You Remember

Tier 3- When I'm Weary, Sam Cop, Can't Stop Here On Out, That Girl Is You, Come Tomorrow

is it in a different key than they played in 2016? The playing was all over the place but I don't remember Dave struggling with singing it like he does now?
