Him mentioning the train at the show was the icing on the cake. I had bought tickets from a community member and explained the story when I met him, and I could tell he wasn’t quite believing me until Dave brought it up

There is a lot more to the story, and one other potentially very cool / generous bit, but i noticed about 10 minutes later when I got up to go the bathroom. He noticed I noticed, but I never said a word to him. Nothing more than a head nod.

That's awesome, Jack.

I see 4/21/07 was the last time Dodo was played for 3 years!

I’d like to talk to him but not in the typical fan interaction. Like as another person because I actually think he has a normal personality in there somewhere.

Just some short davespeak about how he took the train he took was late, he kept saying he had a fever and it was making him act funny. Then kinda made a stupid song about it "I took a train from boston", and asked if it was already a song which i think he was thinking of Charlie on the MTA but they really sound nothing alike.

Im 100% biased, but its such a great show. It has a lot of the best parts from Radio City but has some tunes like the Stone, Dodo, little thing and a pretty fun Jimi to make it a classic D&T song.

i think its worth checking out:

Yeah it's a bummer Radio City was released because there is so much overlap with this show, but just about everything in this show is better. No one note LIOG solo here

If theres one thing the Radio City LIOG does highlight, is Dave's rhythm guitar playing. That is the perfect song where you can actually just let the rhythm be the lead. But year, people saying its the best solo of all time are absolute morons.

I forgot to review this, my first and only Dave and Tim show.

To say I was psyched going into this show to be finally catching D+T is an understatement. They could have played the most standard set ever and I would have been satisfied, but this show was anything but standard once the Bartender show opener was over.

Dodo in the second slot was unexpected and amazing. Great version too. After that it was solid D+T with decent song selection through to an energetic Save Me that marked the halfway point. Crush, Grace, Stone, and LIOG were all excellent.

Then it was time for Timmy's solo. I had been wishing for You Are My Sanity but he got spacy instead and then slammed into Stream which was more than enough of a consolation prize. Good performance too that then flowed into an excellent Kashmir that just brought the house down. From this point on the crowd was floored and D+T fed off of that energy. For the record Dave was very chatty during this show, lots of good Davespeak for those who like it.

They followed that up with the first Cornbread ever played on US soil, and these early Cornbreads were pretty sweet. The Jimi was spectacular, a very unique version with a cool intro and FWIW interpolation. Strong finish to the set with DDTW, #41, and Nancies.

The encore was fantastic. The "improv" at the opening (which he also did the next night at Radio City) is pretty cool, I wish something had come out of it. The Little Thing is very neat, Dave intros it with an explanation of how the song makes him feel, and I think this is the Little Thing that introduced the "old lounge singer" who appears in numerous Little Things since then. This is probably the only version of WAYG I can say I really like, it was stripped down and sincere. Close out with a nice Two Step and man, what a show.

Rating: ***** I think this is the best show D+T have done since '99. Plenty of D+T shows before and after this one, but I think this is as good as it gets from modern era D+T. Call me biased if you want but listen to this show first if you haven't.

LT Desire: Yes please. I know the following night was released but I don't think there's any denying that this show was better and worthy of a release at some point. I'd take a DMBlive, but I'd rather get this show with a mix as good as Radio City was to listen to.

Remember when people lost their minds when some one realized that "some devil" backwards is "live demos"? That was fun for a second.

Sneaky good early fall day here in the western suburbs of Chicago. Sitting on my porch with a cigar, apple cider, and college football on.

God damn, this album is a borderline masterpiece.
