Thanks, was there anything in particular that you noticed? I haven't bought one yet, but I like the idea of being able to play when people are asleep and not waking them up. What suggestion would you give me?

I've never played one, but try one of these out at guitar center..
[Only registered users can see links.] Or buy a Gibson Chet, or a Taylor T5. |

I had one for three years and I just sold it a few months ago. You should not buy it unless you have played it. It is much heavier than the Gibson chet and has very little tone. I bought mine new and it started having problems within a few months. I still think it was a good looking guitar but that is really all it is...a good looking guitar.

thanks for the reviews, keep them coming. I was really excited about the look, it is nice looking, but I was wondering about the play-ability. The other great thing was the $300 price range!

I did have a problem with mine after a few weeks though. Epiphone put more time on the body than they did on the wiring/sound. If you are looking for a 12 string I just got a great one. I got it this past December and I love it. It is a Mitchell and I paid $250 for it at my local guitar center. Great full body sound, etc. When I traded in my Ep. Chet Atkins they only gave me $85 - kinda tells you what people think the chet is worth. PLaying JTR on the twelve string is without a doubt the most fun thing to play. I don't know about the steel string SST but the nylon string one they released earlier this year is phenomenal. I can't afford one right now, but I've played four different ones, and even the ones at guitar center that are set up horribly and poorly cared for still play and sound fantastic. But as for a steel string I wouldn't even mess around with those Chet Atkins style guitars, I can't stand them personally.
