Basically, you should have some options. It’ll be okay.

Also fuck that waitress, what a bitch.

Yeah, look into your state's marketplace. Plus, that'll be a proactive step that you know will lead to you being able to get the help you need ASAP, and knowing that you're being proactive about it will help.

There will be others. There always are, even when it doesn't seem like there will be. Just try to exhale and be present as best you can, even if just for a second.

I mean. Someone said this to me years ago. But I don't understand why this shit always happens to me. It's easy to say "it's ok, it's not your fault..." and what not. But after 35 years there is exactly one constant. Me. It's clearly my fault. I just don't know what I did.

I'm calling a doctor tomorrow. My mom says she'll pay for it.

35 years old and my mom is paying my bills...

This shit happens to all of us. You’re not the only one....remember that. Also, you’re on your way to a new job, you’re doing something about it. That’s all you can do.

Your mom is really generous and helping. Thank her for that, go, then get your insurance squared away. I work for Cigna’s legal department, so if you need advice, just let me know.

I haven't read every detail about your situation man, but I turned things around and big reason for that was Dave Ramsey, some may laugh and make fun of that but his program really helped me get focus, not just financially but personally as well. It's worth a listen to his podcast. Even if you not a Christian (his philosophy is to teach Christian based methods), his advice is sound

Ok so tonight was the type of night that every hotel worker fears. Came into work at 3pm to see us oversold by 7 rooms. Which meant that I had find alternate accommodations for 7 people. All while doing everything else i do at work. and due to 2 huge conventions in town, there were not many rooms to find to send people. I've only worked here for a few weeks so it's been a struggle. I'm the supervisor, but I'm also a new hire. So I'm in charge but at the same time have to listen to advice from my underlings. It's awesome and stressful at the same time. Mix that and my current mental state and it's been even harder.

The sales team set us up to fail tonight. My hotel is way too small to allow 7 oversells. The odds are very against us.

I'll avoid hospitality speak and just cut to the chase.

I handled tonight like a fucking champ. I feel like Rocky running up the steps at the Philly art museum.

With all the stress and meltdowns I've had over the last month, I was worried that I wouldn't be able to prove myself. Anxiety is a hell of a thing. I've been freaking out since the day I started my job that my bosses would regret putting me in my roll. I really think tonight proved myself wrong and my bosses right. Huge confidence boost

Tangentially relevant to the conversation, I tried to back up my Phish Nashville Westin reservation to start on Monday instead of Tuesday and he said they were 30 rooms overbooked.

Yikes

Overbooking is the bane of every hotels existence. Except for the sales manager. They conveniently leave at 5 and don't have to deal with the fallout. It's a fucked up practice.

Since they are overbooked by 30, I recommend showing up right at check in if not earlier. Otherwise you may get moved. A free night is awesome, but when you're expecting a Westin and get stuck in Motel 6 you're gonna be pissed.

I booked the Aloft down the street for Monday. I travel for work, changing hotels isnít a big thing for me. My status (closing in on lifetime platinum) could probably get me in, but not a big deal.

oh shit. If you're that high up let them walk you. Not sure about Marriotts policy. But with Hilton if you're a Diamond and you get relocated the hotel has to give you $200 cash on the spot. Note that this so rarely happens that most hotels don't know that this is policy.

When a person that you think is your friend totally ghosts you, you realize how worthless you really are. Fuck everything...

And no, I'm no suicidal, I'm just really wanting to spend the rest of my life in a cave by myself. Because no one outside that cave seems to give a shit about me.

Hey, you're not worthless. Your "friend's" behaviour is worthless. View the situation in its proper context. You didn't welch on the friendship, the other person did. Move on. Life is too short to be hung up on unkind people, whoever they are.

Yeah, instead of being a hermit, find better friends. I'll say, though, through the years, I think the amount of true friends I have, I can count on one hand.
