Bullets and Rum is just a really fun song. Great middle section. Kinda wish Roi was soloing over it or something though. A lot of potential.

people generally downplaying this leak. enjoy this, you won't see anything like this again from this band, ever. this material isn't great but it's as good if not better than most of their stuff 12 years later, even in this rough form.

Yes. Seriously this whole thing probably summarizes the DMB music production over the last ten plus years. All the songs you want to hear studio wise yet left wanting, yet good on many levels.

There Are Ghosts reminds me of current-day Radiohead. Maybe Daydreaming a bit.

Roi sounds much more natural on this 2nd IOY than on the CT release. In fact, they should have just released this version. Sounds better by a country mile. You can hear everybody play so much more clearly.

I really like Red Glare. This needs to be updated and released on a new album.

Great to hear a studio Shotgun finally. It's not perfect, but far from a disaster.

Seems like Batson and the band learned some lessons from the abysmal Stand Up sessions.

the most refreshing thing about these unheard songs are the lyrics. some interesting stuff in them, back when dave was a bit more honest with his words. nothing political here. celebrate, drive me away, early home, situation = those 4 are kind of unique lyrically.

Yeah, this middle eight in Drive Me Away definitely reminds me of late-90s Radiohead.

Some dark themes on a few of these songs.

Celebrate sounds like early NIN. Less screaming though.

Well, this leak was an unexpected treat. Some surprises to enjoy.

The standouts for me are:

both versions of Early Home
both versions of Sister ()
Celebrate
Shotgun
Red Glare
Drive Me Away
Bullets and Rum
ABC
Ask

Basically the "new" stuff.

I dig this Shotgun. Nice to hear a version Dave isnt screaming all over. Shows you the potential this song has in the studio. Piano sounds nice on it.
