I like a decent chunk of these songs. They sound like raw studio demos but some of them are really enjoyable and bring back some memories of that time in my life and being a young idiot in college waiting with anticipation for the 2006 songs to make it to an album. Its weird as shit to hear Boyd again though.

Shotgun is LWS level unfinished beauty to me.

Whoa. Drive Me Away.

Gas Into Fire meets Radiohead. This is damn interesting.

I don't even know what to think of Celebrate. Totally unlike anything I could have guessed. WTF?

ABC works really well after Break Free for obvious reasons. And Scream Into the Grave works nicely after Blackjack as an extra jam.

HOLY F! This Minarets-esque jam in Can't Stop with Boyd and the horns playing the lick. Wow.

Crazy. Way better than the Come Tomorrow cut.

It would have been interesting if they had focused on these ideas from 2006, trimmed the fat, and worked with a competent producer. The bones are there for a somewhat decent album.

But they scrapped the sessions, when in the studio with Rob and loss Roi and gave us Big Whiskey.

only problem with this leak is it'll just lead to more resentment from Dave and the band towards their fans. Forget about cool bustouts this winter tour, that's for sure. (wasn't going to happen anyways obv)

Drive Me Away

Walking down the garden path
I heard a pop and hurried in
And I saw you there, I dropped my bags
Little baby love, what have you done?

Off the phone the cops came in
They tying up a few loose ends
Somebody drive me away

It’s too late for talking now
So drive me away
And I feel upside down
Somebody drive me away
I wish I could disappear
Drive me away
Oh let me stand here

Remember how you used to play
Remember how you used to run
Baby did you forget how to run away
I don’t think I could even take a breath

Somebody drive me away
It’s too late for talking now
Somebody drive me away
Oh I feel inside out
Somebody drive me away
I swear I can’t breathe
Drive me away

Say, somebody wake me up
I must be sleeping
Somebody tell me I’m dreaming
Stay, drive me away

Drive me away
It’s too late for talking now
So drive me away
Upside down and inside out
Drive me away
I feel like my skin is coming off
Somebody drive me away
I swear my heart is ???
Somebody drive me way
And I don’t even know what to say
Somebody drive me away
And I can’t even figure it out
Somebody drive me away
I feel tomorrow’s acting out
Drive me away

It's really confusing that they recorded this Can't Stop in Fall of 2006, then continued to play it the slow meandering way for over a decade after that.

They're not known for making good decisions.

ABC, Drive Me Away, Early Home, and the winter version of Come On are my early favorites.
