After 14 years and however many shows, I have yet to see Typical... A few times I missed it by a single show, either the day before or day after.

Wow, that is more impressive. Together we've been shut out of one of the best segues in dmb history.

Too bad you missed 8/26/00. Great show. Always just assumed you hit that.

Nope, I missed it by one show in 1997, 2000, and 2003. I only hit N1 of that Hartford run.

2010
I feel the same way about 2010. Although, i saw more shows this year than i had nearly seen previously i kept getting more songs that i thought i wouldnt see in concert.

Before this year i never heard

JTR x2
Lying In the Hands of God x4
Busted Stuff
Granny x3

Shake Me Like a Monkey x7
Break for It x2
Baby Blue
Big Eyed Fish x4
Sweet Up and Down
Cry Freedom x2
Kit Kat Jam
The Stone x2

Stand Up for It [Partial]
Recently [Partial]
Blue Water
What Would You Say x2

Little Red Bird
Say Goodbye x2
Drive In, Drive Out
The Needle and Damage Done
Ill Back You Up x2
Good Good Time [Solo]
Minarets [Partial]
Write A Song

Blackjack
Christmas Song

A second Grace is Gone, Last Stop and One Sweet World; second and third Warehouse, Digging a Ditch, Rapunzel, Pig and Lie in Our Graves.

Ive gotta say, this year was great for me. I saw some great segues, and lots of songs in the same show that i didnt think the band would ever play together.

I hope the band comes back with this same type of depth into their catalog, but i have a feeling that it wont be the same.

2010

Saw Roi's last on 6/27/08. Was the final song off UTTAD I had yet to see. Was very grateful for that

best i could do was the 3rd generation tape i got from shane shapiro. i talked to him a few years ago, but he didn't have any old dmb stuff anymore. i had hoped we could find the taper, but no dice.

and at this point, i doubt we'll ever see anything better. there isn't anything particularly amazing about the show that makes me think it would get out there as a live trax either.

That was the show where I had tickets, couldn't get off work so I sold mine to a friend, and they got a WH upgrade.

I remember the reviews on nancies.org for that show were brutal. "Singles night in Canada!"

well, in fairness, reviews for most of that tour were brutal. The show was fine and a great first show to introduce me to the band's live show.

I wrote a poorly written review of 8.1.98 on Nancies a day or two after the show: [Only registered users can see links.]

Of the four dmb shows I've been to, definitely the best one! It was cool that they played some songs that don't make it into the setlist often (granny, bowa, lld, #41). There was so much energy throughout the whole show.... it was unbelieveable. Nice long #41. Granny was definitely a treat, I was the only one singing along though. Love Boyd's solo in Two Step where he's plucking the violin. I was hoping to hear the song. Even though I heard it last night, I was glad to hear Say Goodbye. Carter's solo before it was awesome, and the whole crowd was into it. You could tell he was relaxed up there. In the middle of the solo, he turned around and was playing the wood blocks. Somehow, he managed to play the maxwell coffee commercial. It was awesome. He realized that he had done it, and he was laughing and looking at dave. Satellite was a crowd fav, but I had never really gotten into that song. Watchtower was definitely a great way to wrap up the night. I knew it was coming when i heard Stefan start his bass solo. He had more rhythm in his solo, and was playing notes... he went into the Marley tune Stir It Up, and he was smiling up a storm when he realized it. Carter picked up on it, and joined in. Then Dave picked up on it and joined in on the guitar. The whole crowd was singing it. Then Dave sang some of it.... it was great seeing them go into a song like that for the first time. They changed up the middle of Watchtower a bit, and it sounds much better. I think that's my fav song now. Unbelieveable!
Obviously I wasn't a journalism major. And somehow I thought that 8.1.98 was better than 6.8.97 at the time

It's incredible that my year opened with Minarets and closed with Last Stop. I never thought I'd see the day.....what's even greater are the songs in between these too! Only 5 repeats between the two shows which 4 of are from Big Whiskey.
