10 Years, 72 Shows, 0 Minarets - (Now 20 Years, 83 shows, 2 Kids & ONE Minarets)

I was hoping this day wouldn't come, but alas, fuck you True Reflections and 8-26-00.

Anyway, it's been a decade on a road:

Dave Matthews Band
November 16, 1998
Molson Centre
Montreal, CQ, CAN

Seek Up->
Heartbeat Jam->
Pantala Naga Pampa->
Rapunzel
So Much to Say->
Anyone Seen the Bridge?->
Too Much
Don't Drink the Water
Crush
Dancing Nancies
Stay (Wasting Time)
Crash Into Me
Lie in Our Graves
Proudest Monkey
Two Step
(The Last Stop)
Tripping Billies
-Encore-
I'll Back You Up
Stefan solo
All Along the Watchtower

No longer that hard to believe it's been ten years since singles night at the Molson Centre. The next day we got detained by the border patrol and my friend's roomate puked in my car. Great times for some college freshmen looking to The journey had only begun, it's been a great ride

One of the good things about 12/10/05 was getting Minarets. I was willing to tolerate the >> Dreamgirl because I had a feeling that might have been my only shot at getting it. Here's to Minarets with Timmy next summer

And to your ten year Jack. We're glad you made it this far.

I got it at my 4th show (8/7/03) in the encore (along with Spoon, Dreaming Tree, Two Step, Help Myself, #41, and Crush in the same show). No complaints there. Saw it again at 12/10/05. Lucky me!

Me too. Rashawn, Tim, and Jeff on the outro would be ridiculous.

I saw it at my 2nd and 4th shows, both into Typical, but haven't seen it the 11 years since. This is definitely one that needs to come back into rotation!

I got into the band really late, around 98 when I bought Before These Crowded Streets. Only knowing that album, Listener Supported, and the singles of course, I saw my first show in 01. And saw minarets in 05. I'm thankful that I saw it when I did or else I wouldn't have appreciated it at all.

The first time I saw Jane live was at the 01 show in Hartford and I hadn't even heard the song before. I could see everyone cheering as soon as those words came out "I have a sister named Jane..." etc. So I'm glad I've gotten it a couple other times to appreciate it for what it is, one of DMB's defining songs.

Just throwing that in there because of what Soups said about his first show and minarets. If I had seen it on my first show, I wouldn't have known/realized what I was seeing. Of course I got into the game late too. I know most of you have been fans of the band since day 1.

But when you do see it, I know you're going to enjoy it to the fullest.

And typical is the one song that I keep missing...maybe I'll be making this post after a decade of touring in 2011 about typical

72 shows since 1998 and no Minarets is pretty absurd, IMO. I dunno how that happens. I guess it hasn't been played much.

I've been seeing shows since Winter 2002 and the only songs DMB has played since then that I've missed are:

Raven
Kill the King
Angel
Falling Off the Roof

and covers:

Bitch
Long Black Veil
Nothing From Nothing
Keep On Rockin' in the Free World
Three Little Birds
Sail Away
Sex Machine

Dave in 2000, which he also did in the Charlotte show that tour, did the Minarets mute intro, but instead of going into the song, Dave went into True Reflections...

I'm on year 8 and no Minarets either, but I've had Blue Water, Halloween, Butterfly, Kill The King, I'll Back You Up, Waste, Dreaming Tree, among others...
