As a local to Charlottesville I know this housing. Itís god awful. I think we all forget sometimes what this band and we as fans support.

We need to think about the important issues here, like The Stone only being played once during the winter tour.

The problem is people paying big money wouldn't request The Last Stop.

They'd want You & Me played for their wife.

This is pretty shitty of me to say, but...

Would anyone have guessed that DMB had donated a lot more than $40 million over the last 27+ years? Particularly given what they must have been raking in from 1996-2002ish?

Just figured that with Dave alone being worth like $300 mill or something like that, and knowing about all the charity shows and stuff over the years, as a band they would be somewhere well north of $40 mill at this point.

Still awesome, just surprised at the number. I also wonder if that counts Bama funds which, you know, in large part come from people like us.

Wasn't it 40 mil to Cville? I.e. More to other places/things too
And I know they have made donations you don't hear about

Nice piece. Can’t help but once again notice that Dave clearly has a pretty strong urge to step away from the band. Made reference to it twice.

Even if not, it’s a million and a half per year back to 1991 and let’s be generous and say he could afford it in 1995. That’s a lot for charity.

40 mil seems about right I guess. Remember not the whole band is as well off as Dave.
