This caravan stop was only the 2nd 3-night stand in history without a repeat I believe after the gorge last year. I'd say that's a good start even if they did get 11 BW songs in.

Out of 67 songs played this weekend, only 16% are BW, which isn't that bad!

They should have skipped Sister in favour of Baby Blue.

Not to mention there was a mini Dave and Tim show in there with no repeats either.

Thanks for the groundbreaking feedback.

...a point that was lost on you is that maybe it would be nice if they had some new music? If BTCS was old news in '00, BW is old news in '11. But not only is BW not treated the same way as BCTS (by both DMB and the ballwashers), it's still treated like it's brand new freakin record.

But I'll stop talking about this now, because God knows you hate people who forgot to come here with their scrub brush and washcloth.

As an aside, I actually didn't mind how much they played BW this past weekend because they also played a fair amount of rarities and they took chances. They mixed it up for the most part. That's all anyone really wants, it's just hard to mix up individual sets of you're going to dedicate 1/3 or 1/2 of it to BW.

there's no way there's been a set that's 1/2 BW since 2009.

This was pretty damn close, and it was at the end of last year. The difference was basically Blackjack and/or I Did It...8/18 = BW.

True. If only they realized it's actually a toddler.

What the fuck. Of course it would be nice if they had new songs. But since they don't, BW is still their newest collection of songs and so they're still going to play them a lot. BTCS in 2000 and BW in 2011 are not comparable for exactly that reason.

The album barely came out 2 years ago, and was the first batch of music recorded by these 7 people. They aren't going to dump the songs from sets just because of some arbitrary statute of limitations you invented.

And since they aren't doing that, I'm not sure why you're still bitching about it.

So if they haven't made a new album five years from now, you'd find it perfectly acceptable to pump BW based on your arbitrary lack of limitations?

I wish we had one of those John Lackey excuse-generators on this site.

I said they weren't. I even said I was fine with the sets. Of course, you saw that, but it's fun to embellish.

I was arguing your defense of when it is and when it is not acceptable to continuously promote a record that's already been promoted heavily. This has nothing to do with what DMB is doing so far in 2011.

and i don't think they're treating it like their baby still. some nights it has the most songs in a set, some nights it doesn't, just like all their other popular records.

If they haven't made a new album five years from now I assume it's because they broke up.

I don't mind a little more BW. It's better than the alternative. Don't need a repeat of '05-'07
