The FBI arrested a man this morning who is believed to have been involved in the case that Patton Oswalt’s wife was writing about when she died.

The California guy, accused of 12 murders, 45 rapes and over a hundred burglaries? He's 72 now. If her book helped the police find the guy, that's a great testament and memorial to her journalism skills.

Yeah. The cops are saying that the book had nothing to do with it, but it’s pretty hard to believe that after practically nothing happening in the case for decades that he got caught a matter of weeks after the book came out and there’s no connection at all. Even if it was just to put the case back in the spotlight, that’s not nothing.

In less uplifting news, Bill Cosby just got found guilty of aggravated sexual assault and could get up to 30 years in prison.

He won't see a single day inside a cell.

John Mulaney’s new special went up on Netflix today. I know what I’m doing tonight.

I don't think this is correct.

This is my county. I know the Judge by reputation only, but I have known one of the DAs on the case well for 20 years. I have no inside info.

But I will be surprised if Cosby doesn't get jail time. Especially after the retrial defense took such an offensive, scorched earth approach to basically every witness, the DAs, etc. And don't forget, they accused the Judge multiple times of being disqualified (once for being mean to them, once because the Judge's wife has done work with sexual assault victims).

And then there's Cosby's outburst in open Court right after being convicted, where he interrupted the DA speaking to the Judge about bail and called the DA "you asshole".

His sympathy is less than zero. I believe the only thing that could save him from jailtime is if he's in a terminal medical condition, which they've claimed before, like three years ago, yet he seems just as healthy as he was at the start of the process.

The state granted Cosby immunity as part of a civil settlement. He lost the signed letter. If he still had it, this whole thing would’ve never happened

I'm not a huge fan but the funniest thing I ever heard out of his mouth was when he was on Opie & Anthony in November 2011, just a day after Patrice Oneal died. Anthony said "yeah, he loved to come over when we had barbecues and he'd just be there grilling for everyone" and DeRosa's response "...you invited him to cook? Did you make him wear a pancake hat you Aryan cocksucker?". Fuckin died

Fair enough, I get that and neither am I but I just love comedy so much that even guys that aren't at the top of the list are worth it for me.

Oh I'm not saying don't go. I think he's had some great bits over the years. I was just saying that one of the funniest things I've heard was that response on O&A years ago. Not that it was the ONLY funny thing he ever said.

Oh no, I didn't take it like that at all! Just saying that even though he's not like my favorite comedian out there today, it'll still be pretty good.
