Kasich will be done if he doesn't win OH and do well in Michigan. His entire election calculus boils down to him being able to deliver states like that. If he can't, there's no way he sticks around.

I'm really surprised more Republicans aren't supporting Rubio. I don't like any of them, but he seems the least offensive (other than Kasich). I guess it's better for Hillary though, so I'm fine with it.

That I get, as a lesser of two evils approach. It seemed like you were an actual Rubio supporter though, and if so I was curious what you find so appealing. But if it's just "anyone but Trump", I understand that.

Oh absolutely, at this point, it's an anyone but Trump. But I am essentially a Rubio supporter, I just line up with his stance on the issues more than any other candidate, in either party.

Politics

Looks like Ben Carson is finally going to stop pretending, like I said he should last night.

I find it hard to believe, though, that Ben Carson was really affecting much. Need two of Kasich, Rubio and Cruz out. Then again, picking between Trump and Cruz is like picking between those two or Hillary. Do not want.

Do you guys honestly think Trump can beat Hillary? Why?
Unless there's a massive defection among working class whites, there's no math that gets Trump to a victory in November -- given how poorly he polls with hispanics and african americans.

I think Trump has a better chance of beating Hillary than Ted Cruz, but the percentages are probably .05% to .005%, or something like that. Cruz / Clinton would be a re-run of Romney / Obama, and that was a light stroll of a campaign for the Democrats. At least with Trump, there's a chance something screwy happens, like a ton of Bernie Sanders voters defect because they can't stand the notion of another Wall Street backed politician in the WH. No chance anyone is crossing the line to vote for Cruz.

Somehow I don't see that crowd going for Trump.

I'll admit upfront that I'm engaging in a bout of schadenfreude here, but there is an awful lot of "We have a path to victory, and it's threading this very small needle," going on in the GOP right now. At the same time, I haven't felt this confident of a victory for my party since 2000, and that didn't turn out so great.

I just watched the John Oliver segment on Trump. It was hilarious but scary that if this guy wins we don't know where he will take the country. It wasn't like we didn't know Bush the Lesser at the time would bring the country to its knees though people were pretty sure about his failures in government, oil, etc.

It seems the ghosts of the past of the GOP are threatening to take down the entire party all because of Trump revealing the darkness underneath the surface of the supposed "Family Values" party. We are heading for a major-realignment and the GOP may very well be a southern minority party by the time the 2016 election comes to a close.

you knew George W Bush was going to "bring the country to its knees?" People saw 9/11, Afghanistan and Iraq coming?

Well later reading about the personal history of the family and George W. Bush's business failures you could easily come to that conclusion. I think most of the populace that voted for Gore instead of Bush Jr. in 2000 also knew it at the time that if her were president he would be a disaster of epic proportions.
