Very true, but that's far from the only reason....still cool we only have to wait 5 days versus months

Now, I know what it must have been like to be a music fan pre-90's; how often do you have a huge band releasing something without ANY idea of what's coming? I have no idea what the sounds or songs are supposed to be.

it's great that everyone will more or less be listening to it on the same day for the first time. that hasn't happened probably since In Rainbows.

My expectations are way too high after In Rainbows.

Assuming I love it, my two favorite albums of the year so far both have King in the title, and it's only February, haha.

Kind of off-topic, but I really hope one day they release a live album of Atoms For Peace. Bar none, one of the best shows I've been to. Flea and Thom were holding a two-hour danceoff.

I have to admit, I actually am almost indifferent (at least, in terms of expectations; I'm still really excited). They haven't really hit a bum note in about fifteen years, and they will one of these days (maybe). I'm impressed they've kept it at such a high quality for so long.

Decemberists made a kickass album. I didn't know they had it in them.

Also, I don't know if anyone's read this, but if you're into the songwriting and production aspects of music, Ed O'Brien kept a diary during the whole Kid A/Amnesiac process; it's really illuminating, especially into how hard they go over their songs to make sure they're right. I've read it before, but the excitement over the new one has me re-reading, and it's really cool.

The excitement for the new one had me listen to Kid A and HTTT tonight. Love them both, but then again I love every RH album except Pablo... and Amnesiac. I like it plenty, but it's not a love affair.

If I remember correctly, I didn't even have the In Rainbows cover art when I downloaded the album when it came out. Was that just me or did they not even release it? I remember I was using a screenshot of the website's page or something for a little while.

Their album covers always seem so weird to me at first. I never know how to feel about them, but the music always ends up representing the album vibe so well. I can't wait to see what music correlates to this creepy acid trip of a nightmare cover.
