Probably Cigarette Lit

Help Myself deserves a mention though, the studio version is great

This is a very arbitrary selection of "B-sides" though, isn't it? Where's Granny?

But sugar will was recorded in the studio during the BWGGK sessions. Amd KTK was recorded during those '06 sessions. Didn't thst even leak via iem when fenton played it during a sdck like rwwc?

Enough. JTR is better than all those.

We've never heard more than like 30 seconds of that Sugar Will though. Wasn't it just Break Free from that IEM? He mentioned that in the first post too.

Monkey Man is so much better than all these songs. By a landslide. JTR will forever hold a spot in my heart, as I'll never forget seeing it live those first few times in 2000, but in terms of songwriting and overall DM greatness, Monkey Man is superior. It's the hidden gem in the catalogue.

I understand music is subjective but I'd like to hear why you think it's so much better, if you can. Lyrically Monkey Man seemed kind of undone, and the structure is all over the place. There's no real true solo section either. I think it would be kind of boring live, like Drunken Soldier is. I don't think it's a bad song, I really like Monkey Man a lot but I wouldn't say it's the best on this list or even in the top 5

I will say when you listen to Monkey Man and then the new songs from last year...it's not even close to the same band. The level of inspiration, creativity and spirit is just totally gone. The contrast is extreme.

I had no idea Monkey Man was this popular. I like it just fine but it's never been a top song for me (and I often forget it exists). I wonder how people would feel about it if it had been played 200 times live.

I could imagine DMB 3.0 doing a great job on Monkey Man, actually. Nobody will agree but I can imagine there would be some good horn parts on that, as well as room for Jeff and Tim to shine.

I like Monkey Man quite a bit but the idea that's it's better than JTR is insane.
