Only worthwhile set will be London N2. The rest will be cookie cutter, played out D&T.

Why do you say LN2 will be the exception to the rule?

I really don't understand why they don't mix it up more. Pull out things that haven't been played or bring in guests. Just fucking jam up there and improv at bit. They could do so much more D&T style. Simplicity is nice but it gets boring after awhile.

Maybe the pressure of not having a summer tour will encourage them. Doubtful though

Damn. Outside of samurai the newest song was 16 years old? Nice old school set.

I think they will when the European tour actually starts. The three night mexico run will give us a good idea of the song rotation we'll be working with, and then hopefully we'll see some cool debuts over the course of the tour. It's different when they're playing these one-off shows randomly scattered--they don't spend time rehearsing or trying stuff out for that because there's no real incentive--most people they're playing for at these events haven't listened to much DMB or D+T.

Fuck, I'm going to Paris and Brussels in January, so just missing this by a couple months. It would have been fun to work this in.

Justin Bieber stormed off stage because his fans were screaming between songs. Maybe Dave should do the same.

After a while? Big time.

They've always done this though. They just used to be a lot better, a lot more confident, and a lot more honed in with each other. They used to stop on a dime with each other. Now they struggle mightily to end on the same chord. Thus, they dumb it down in order to not embarrass themselves up there with "all that pressure".

So do you think it's a lack of practicing together or Dave just getting old and not being half the guitar player he used to be?

Both, lol. I think a lot has to do with confidence.
