@dobyblue analogue all the way!

Let's hope, pray, whatever, that when the full product description is announced that we discover the vinyl has been done from the original analogue master tape!!

He says in the article (or extras) everything was recorded to tape, right? Is there any chance they still don't have it? I know SLW said he doesn't have his masters.

It's probably more likely that RCA has them and it's proving harder for them to get for some reason. Either that or they don't care enough to bother.

My thought would be that they definitely have them, but it's not worth the time to bother with them now. The dmb philosophy has always been; "Why sell something to your fans once, when you can sell it to them twice." They will release proper transfers in a few years. Possibly as a $500 box set or something ridiculous.

Doby! Do you know anything about the transfer of the BTCS vinyl?

He answered that question earlier for me... not the knowledge I was wanting... but good to know I guess, lest I waste my efforts and hard drive space.

If I've set this up correctly, as I think I have, I'll be listening to DMB in 24/192 by the end of the day...

I am too lazy to back read. Where did the November UTTAD release info come from? I would think that would mean a pre-order would be starting soon, no?

I can't imagine that something like that wouldn't end up for sale through the band's online store.

I'm sure it will. That's just the source for the UTTAD coming out.

Gotcha. Hopefully they pair it with a show like they did with R2T.

No sourcing on this pre-order page either, I see.

I went to the Legacy Recordings website to see what they might have up... nothing on UTTAD yet, but I had a moment with this artist description:

Quote:
Dave Matthews Band: A vibrant multiracial band with a wide instrumental range, they shot to pop and alternative fame in the 1990s.

Yeah, not doubting its accuracy...

Just the first time I've seen/heard the term 'multiracial' in a one-sentence description about the band. Thought it was a little weird.
