Dave should keep his fucking mouth shut and pile the money as high as he can if that's what he wants. Hell, shoot for a half a billion. Lets get coran to be the governor of VA. Just don't come preaching your shit to me. "Shut up and play" rings so much truer now.
I get this man. It is very frustrating to hear them preach one way and then do the opposite behind closed doors. The band's always been like this. I was infuriated back in '06-'07 when it was painfully obvious that the band was unhappy and pissed off at each other, but they put a big smile on their face and said "We've never been happier to be out on tour, this is our strongest material!" As I said earlier they market themselves as some kind of happy hippy brigade and they suck people in who actually buy this attitude and then they cash in for something like this. Honestly I don't understand why more people aren't a little bit upset and hurt by this. Some of you all are so jaded it's scary.

Put a dollar in the jar go straight to heaven man. No need to make any changes, just make a small contribution and all your worries go away.

I'm not sure how I feel about this debate to be honest. I can see both sides of the argument, but yea, I'm on the fence. As it was mentioned earlier, we need more information first. I think I would care more about the issue if it were a few years ago, but my mentality for the band is "on break" just as the band is.

I don't understand how a person who posts so much can't seem to understand why another person is so passionate about how they feel about the band.

I completely agree with Jack (you'll say you're not surprised, Spence), because I hold DMB to a certain standard. The reason I hold them to that standard is they set it themselves, by way of Stand Up for a Cure, Farm Aid, Katrina, etc. They generally have morals and they always seemed to "get it."

This show suggests, to me, that they no longer care to "get it." Dave's great, great, great grandon's future ex-wife will need that fourth Prada bag, so Dave feels obligated to accept revenue that was generated by way of creating (and killing) nicotine addicts.

Part in bold is truth. If you don't get the outrage then you just need to think about that statement. That's the heart of the matter. Even if you don't share the viewpoint you have to at least understand it.

i'm passionate about their music, not about their views and opinions. dave could be the biggest asshole on the planet and i still wouldn't care because i like their music. that is the only thing that matters imo. but if dave not living up to his word about big business is really that important to you, then by all means guys have your "fuck you dave matthews" party.

edit: and i'd like to see you go at least a week without mentioning my post count/"posts so much"

I love when we turn a negative into a positive

And for all the cries of this thread being evidence that this is going to be a painful offseason, I'd rather have the kind of discussion going on in this thread a hundred times over the umpteenth discussion of [Only registered users can see links.] .
