I tried to listen to every show from a tour before and once you hear Too Much for the 23rd time it gets alittle old and repetitive....i didn't last long

Yeah, I think Don't Drink the Water and Too Much will be my biggest hurdle. Those Long Black Veils in 1999 were pretty brutal, too.

This is pretty strange.

According to the almanac, there have been 988 shows since '99. I'll assume we can just say you'll be listening to 900 shows because maybe 88 or so (total guess) may not be accessible for whatever reason (Farm Aids, private shows, missing shows, etc).

How long is the average show...2.25 hoursish? That's over 2,000 hours of DMB listening time, better known as 84 days, or 12 weeks, or three months of straight listening.

To each their own, but I have to ask...why?

Yeah, it'll probably take me until the next summer tour.

Just think though, that'll save me a ton on tickets and travel if I can't stand them by then.

I'm amazed you can get through three shows a day. The most I can ever get through in a day is half that.

Be prepared to listen to a LOT of crowd noise for the first few weeks. In '99 they were still taking 2-3 minutes between songs.

Are all these shows downloaded or are you doing this from a specific site?

Assuming you're just doing the full band shows, you've got just about 700 shows to do.

Be prepared to hear Too Much, Grey Street, and Ants a combined total of 1020 times.

346 Too Much
341 Grey Street
333 Ants Marching
293 Two Step
283 Don't Drink the Water
280 Crash Into Me
279 Anyone Seen the Bridge
275 Jimi Thing
262 So Much to Say
251 Rapunzel
245 One Sweet World
239 Crush
237 #41
233 Everyday ()
232 All Along the Watchtower
231 What Would You Say
227 Warehouse
217 Tripping Billies
211 Where Are You Going ()
210 When the World Ends ()
208 Bartender
201 Stay (Wasting Time)

Downloaded and in iTunes. I've got basically everything from 1997 until present.

i want to make fun of you, but i can't. i'm currently slowly going through every official PJ boot (2000-present day). about one show a day, hoping to get the best live version of every song they have for my ipod.

One thing Id like to do would be to go back and listen to every show that Ive been too. Even that sounds like a chore tho.

Or you could just download this:

That is, you know, if you were the type of person to download a torrent...

oh i download torrents, just torrents of officially released stuff

thanks for the suggestion, but i have my own preferences for what i'm looking for in a "definitive" performance of a song. plus it looks like a good portion of those are straight SBD pulls from the 90's which as you know i have no interest in as they are inferior in quality to the officially mixed and mastered boots they've put out this decade.
