The year before with no LeRoi or Jeff was more shocking, but this version was better. And more appropriate for the time. Because DMB should always base their setlists around what is happening in my life.

Gotta say, missing DMB lately. This weekend a year ago I went to these two shows, both which were great.

May 2016 was definitely one of the best months of live DMB in recent memory.

Weird to have the summer starting and not having a full band tour kicking off. I'm seeing D&T in a couple weeks and not particularly excited to be honest. Even with some of the adventurous song picks this year and the new Live Trax, D&T will never excite me like full band.

I finally had that "missing DMB" feeling last night....but it comes with a caveat. I listened to the Riverport 2000 shows on my way to/from the Lehigh Valley Food Truck Festival and then dropped the baby off at my parents and went to Montage Mtn to see Cabinet, the local bluegrass band who hosted their own festival this weekend (also with Keller Williams, Greensky Bluegrass, The Wood Brothers, Turkuaz).....and really missed the feeling of seeing the lights dim at the venue and the roar of the big amphitheater crowd and the General sights and sounds of summer shows.

That said, the caveat is that I miss 2000-2010 DMB. Ugh.

Don't miss them a bit and have no desire to spend the money on the Dave and Tim show here in town in a few weeks.

They're great guys, on top of that. They deserve all the success in the world.

I would have liked to see them at Jones Beach in a couple of weeks, but it turns out that my youngest daughters have a dance recital that night so I will be doing that instead. I'm not that disappointed to miss D&T, but I would have liked to go.

They closed the show the other night with a cover of Cake's "The Distance." I was floored. So badass from start to finish. I highly recommend people check them out ASAP.

Can't they dance to D/T? Nothing brings the house down like a nice interpretive dance to sister

I'll have to agree that May 2016 was a rejuvenating feeling, and the new songs had a hell of a lot to do with that. And the sets were getting varied, they were busting out Last Stop, Break Free..all kind of stuff. Like I said before, the SPAC shows from 2016 are the best ones I've ever attended.

I'm not nearly as excited for D+T either. I think for 2 huge reasons...the last few weeks of the Europe tour was stale as can be. And D+T in the amphitheaters is just not appealing very much at all. I would be so much more pumped if they were playing smaller venues, even if I had to shell out slightly more cash. These shows are going to have the tailgate/vibe of a DMB show but going to be so much more mellow and somewhat predictable.

I don't think you'll regret that at all. If you're going this summer, it's only worth it to hit the 2 night stands. Forget the one-offs...you know what kind of set you're going to get with that.

We missed it.
