I hated everything about the two sets experiment.....and I saw (arguably) some of the best (Pittsburgh & Blossom '14 and SPAC '15)

To this day i am surprised everyone hated it so much. I LOVE the 2 set format, every other band in the universe plays 2 sets. Gives you a built in break to recharge. I also love the start with Dave Solo, and again in 2014 when they were totally mixing it up it was fun to see who would play on what song. Lastly, hearing a song like Billies in the acoustic set was incredible. Felt like old school DMB for some reason although it totally wasnt.

The only thing i hated about it was the show started an hour earlier. Essentially cut the time in the lots in half. Made the whole tailgate scene feel rushed.

Two sets sucked because Stefan wasn't on upright enough and carter wasn't scaled down enough

I liked the two sets in terms of musical variation but I just hate intermissions at shows. Ruins the flow.

What does that even mean? A set break isnt something DMB made up, most bands do one unless they are playing a festival set or something short.

I like one long set with no interruptions. The two set thing was fun while it lasted, but I'm 100% on board with the standard DMB formula.

As an audience member, I like one long set.

As a musician, I honestly don't know how they do it for as long as they do, it's hard work. I would want a break.

What? I would say like 20% of the shows I go to have set breaks, if that. And I never like it.

Couple questions:

I’ve been listening to Exodus/Jimi from the 08.23.95 live trax. I dig those jams. Is that David Ryan Harris’ best with the band? If not, what should I check out?

What is the “best” 00/01 grey street? I have a friend dealing with depression and she digs the band. Trying to find some commonality.

I'm a really big fan of 6.22.00. That one has some great lyrics. Probably my favorite version of the song.

Watchtower 7/26/95 and Cornbread from the Gorge in 2014 are two other performances I'd add to the DRH list.

Maybe this was mentioned already, but they clearly took Boyd out of the Live Trax 43 picture from Atlanta. He's on it though when you click on the link to buy the CD.

My favorite is 7.19.00 at RFK Stadium in the rain. Great build up and an exceptional solo by Leroi.

7.12.00 when flowers bloom in the desert...there’s a good video on YouTube
7.07.01 ring around the rosy warehouse disc
9.04.00 with bela and I like the chorus lyrics
8.03.01 hands down best jam

Interesting
Even more so, 9/14/07 is a completely different picture all together, not just adjusted
But upon closer look many are adjusted including 3/13/99, 37/38/39 and none of those have any members on them

Nobody is saying it is. What people are saying is a set break isn’t enjoyable at a DMB show.

Also, most bands do not do a set break, are you out of your mind?

I actually debated whether this might needs its own thread. Imagine paying that much to see Hunger and DreamGirl with the ladies. Mario won’t even pay for lawn seats.

Imagine paying that much for a completely ga show where you could be front row anyway

If you scroll down there's a huge banner for LT44 that he's in though. Who knows.

It's bullshit they took him out of the band's bio section on the official site.
