That’s awesome. Love seeing stuff like that. Rubbing elbows with Stevie Wonder, Coldplay, Jimmy Buffett, Patty Griffin, Steve Earle and now these guys.

Is there any way to buy the 6.30.00 show that's released on Wolfgang's Vault or do you have to get a membership and stream it?

Don't give that guy any of your money. He's a scumbag who continuously rips off artists. I wish I hadn't. Wait until tomorrow and watch your PMs.

Streaming service has a Sonos plugin and a ton of live stuff I canít f Be anywhere else. So I have a subscription. I hadnít looked into anything shady though.

Of, what they have available is impressive, but I've been reading some stories lately about the way they operate that place, and basically the artists get nothing from that website. They also recently bought the website Daytrotter, which has been doing live-in-studio sessions with mainly indie artists for something like 15 years. Hundreds in all. And they started pressing those sessions to vinyl and releasing them commercially without the permission of the artist or paying them anything for it. If you google Daytrotter together with the band Deerhoof you'll find some stories about it. Wolfgang's is indisputably awesome for what they have available, but their business practices are shady as hell and seem to revolve mostly around making money on other people's work while freezing them out.

Didn’t they initially just buy from Billy Graham’s estate and got access to all the live recordings and rights so they didn’thave to pay the artists anything?

That's where the initial collection started, yes. The question is whether that gives him the right to release that material, and all of the material he's accumulated since, without compensating the artists and the publishers, especially since most of that material wasn't recorded with commercial release in mind (most of it is from private collections or was recorded for tv or radio broadcasts). Wolfgang's Vault is currently being sued by six different publishers, multiple artists and I just now read that there's a brand new federal class action suit that was just filed last month on behalf of all the artists on the site.

Went to Jeff and Rashawn's clinic at a local high school Friday night. It was pretty awesome!

The kids are all improvising their solos in these:
Cantaloupe Island

Chameleon

Move Your Rug (Jeff Coffin original)

To me he is, not as much a "guest" but still a guest.

Once Roi died, Jeff became a member to me. I see what you mean, how he "feels" like a guest, and that's fine because you can't replace someone like Roi. I'm sure Warren Haynes probably felt like a guest for the Allmans too at first when he started playing with them.
Jeff is like Butch now--he's in the studio with them, he plays every show with them...that's a member.

Butch was "number 6", until he wasn't.

That's it, Sir.
I understand.

Considering some of the allegations raised against BT in that weird lawsuit (some of that must be based in fact, right?) and some excerpts from Step Into The Light, how bad must Ol' Number 6 have been to be asked to leave or whatever happened? I don't want to be but I must admit feeling intrigued every time Butch being forced out comes up.

Butch wasn't forced out, from my understanding. Thought he wanted to spend time with his family.
