I'm a big fan of 97 two steps. A little heavier tone, concise and Dave's vocals towards the end made them really unique.

Yup, '97 is probably my favorite year for Two Step. They just blew that song apart every single time that summer.

Yep. This one is incredible.

Such a sweet 3 song opening run, especially with the gorgeous Dave part in the #41 Say Bye segue. Love that part he used to play. And Roi's flute solo on #41, goodness. So good.

This is a good show, but we finally got a summer 97 and it was this. I like it, but I always find myself thinking about how great it would have been to get 6.8, 6.10, etc. instead.

Definitely not the best choice for summer '97. Maybe not even a top 10 choice for summer '97. But I listen to this one a lot, because even though there were better shows played that summer, this is still a great show. That's one of the few tours where almost every show could be good enough for a release. That said, when they come around to this year again, it had better be 6.8. At least a Bela show, but seriously, 6.8.

I was fine with the release especially at the time, because for me, a 1997 Summer Tour release was more about stuff we didn't have, than stuff we had. Live Trax 7 took care of my need for Bela on songs. Despite the rest of those 1997 Bela shows still being good, the non-Bela parts of those shows did not change all that much from show to show. The song chart for that tour is a bunch of straight lines.

So having a Bela show, I thought (and still do) that this show should have come first because we had no Wynona - and this one is awesome, good guest spots that had no release, and most importantly Leave Me Praying started to get seriously awesome around when the Flecktones were rolling off the tour. That Hartford is pretty lame. As long as we had LT7, a Bela show was a lower priority for me. Leave Me Praying is probably in my top 10 most played Live Trax tracks.

Yeah, I was speaking specifically about when they come back to '97 for an LT. I definitely am happy with this show, and I listen to it a lot. And yeah, the Wynona and LMP are both huge performances.

I will say this show, like the Riverbend 00 show, is a show I've come to like more than I did initially over time. They are both shows that I go back to and are certainly in the top half of LT releases.

I'm slightly twisting your words, but how could you not initially like this show?

Yeah, both of those were choices that were hard to get excited about because they suffered from having better, more obvious choices close to them (I'm still a little miffed that they chose a June '00 show and it wasn't 6.22). But once you get past the disappointment of the picks, they're both great shows.

I can't agree with this. I was blowing loads as soon as both of these were announced. I'm really surprised by these opinions.

Thanks for that image, man.

Like I said, I'm not trying to disparage either show. They were just two shows that I wasn't very familiar with that fell close to shows that I love and have wanted released for years. So my initial reaction to them wasn't "These look great!" it was, "Why these and not the more obvious ones?" Not saying I was right, just saying that that was my reaction at the time. I love both shows now. In fact, it's been a while since I listened to 6.26.00. My have to fix that today.

All good I hear ya. I just remember being blown away by those setlists. I wasn't as familiar with those other shows as your were.
