Thread for new sources to the community
Based on some conversations in different places on here, I wanted to have a thread to call attention to when someone notices something new that hits a tracker or youtube or whatever.
I wish I were starting the thread with like 5 brand new Fall 1998s. Jeff Travitz was nice enough to upload his audience source files for 5/25/99 Giants. It sounds nice, but unfortunately I think it didn't spread well due some problems on the first half of the tape. It sounds like a loose cable with my untrained ear. There's a bit of static and a lot of quick dropouts in the first half of the tape. More dropouts early in the show, and some static through Lie in Our Graves. Then there's a quick cut between songs after Graves, and it seems to be fine for the rest of the tape including the Santana guest spot. I'm going to listen to as much as I can bear to get a good list of what's good and what's not, but I can post it here for completionists. |

Not sure if you want to compile a list, but 5/6/96 (mtv, copperpot hit the community recently) and there's a cool 3/5/94 (newly surfaced a month or so ago)

Whatever happened to that "Slick Rick" guy who supposedly had a bunch of tapes? Didn't he release a newly sourced early '93 Winston-Salem show like 3 or 4 years ago?

Not to muddy the thread, but there's also 8/18/95 with the first Raven.

It's a thread for conversation, not just a list. No muddying at all.

Just noticed these two on bt.etree. I think they're both new.

Thanks for those links Kim. I haven't listened to it in a very long time but that Melkweg 6/27/98 show had a pretty solid tape. How does this one sound?

Not to jump the gun, but Copperpot posted he is working on a new 5/25/99 video that mixes the master video, fan video and sbd audio.

Oh cool. I was always curious if there was a list of copperpot work where he released upgrades or first-time sources. 5/6/96 and 9/19/92 for example. I'm looking forward to the mix.

Here's another two that Copperpot released a couple years ago...
[Only registered users can see links.] I know 2/27/93 was converted and circulated but I don't think 2/16/93 has been converted. I spoke with Rockinman about it a couple years ago and he said Copperpot was waiting on the 2nd set before he sent it over to him for conversion but that was the last I heard.

Does anyone know if this show was ever converted? If not, I'll rip from youtube.

If you do it make clear that it is noted it is a youtube rip. He had mentioned he was going to get the full crashing the quarter audio out at some point. And was hoping that would happen before someone ripped it. As the quality of the rip would be far inferior. Hopefully the full quality audio can make it out at some point.
