Love that song, and I’ve never heard that version before. moe. did that one too, but it’s a much more straightforward cover.

Great cover songs:
AV Undercover is pretty entertaining. The AV Club would invite indie bands to perform a cover. They have to pick from a list that wasn’t already taken.

I loved that series. It actually helped me discover a few artists I really like including Julien Baker

Feels a little self congratulatory to post these covers I produced in the “great covers” thread but I’m really proud of them and figure this is where they should go.
I lost dozens and dozens of gigs due to Covid, so some friends and I have been producing an online concert series to showcase our local scene and have an outlet for our music until things get back to normal. The first link is my band Swoon covering Cry me a River by JT. My girl Stephanie is a powerhouse vocalist and I think the band kicks major ass, (and would even I wasn’t in it lol) The second is a cover of Losing my Religion my REM that I put together for my friend Rachael. I met her through my open mic I used to host. She normally would do this solo acoustic but I rounded up some of my favorite local players and surprised her with a full band rendition that turned out better than I could have hoped. Enjoy! Nice work, man! The brothers and I are doing a multicam cover of Uncle John’s Band for our...Uncle John (a Dead Head of 36 shows). I’m also working on a cover of Tim Minchin’s You Grew On Me. That’s just a funny little thing for me
