2 things I discovered from listening to this channel: Dave Hoffheimer Band (DHB for those in the know) and the fact that DMB once covered Sweet Emotion (wtf)

Replaying show is the best thing they've done on the channel.

Anyone think this is a test phase for a full time channel?

It has been talked about but the lack of live releases ultimately is what makes it impossible. If the band were like Phish, in regards of every show being available, it would of already happened.

I don’t buy that this is the reason. DMB literally has 100 official live releases (whether it’s a Live At series, LiveTrax, DMBLive, etc). Add the Warehouse discs to that, all the studio material, box sets like RR 05 and Gorge 02 - and you have a solid Arsenal for a full time channel. There’s plenty of material out there.

When Petty had his channel, wouldn't they also infuse music from other bands that Petty just...liked? I feel like I heard that like 1/3 of that channel were simply some of Petty's favorite bands being showcased.
I could see something similar on the DMB channel. Dave seems to like getting exposure to other artists, so wouldn't channel that's ~60% DMB and ~40% other bands that DMB band members like be feasible?

Tom Petty still has a channel and they combine studio, live, and songs/bands that influenced him.
DMB has more than enough material for a full time station |

They played #41 from 8/29/00 this morning ( i cant remember which Live Trax that is). So maybe they are expanding the song choices now.

Expanded selection. LT 2 and LT 7 seem to be in the mix now.

DMB certainly has enough material to have a full time channel. I don't think it will happen, but they wouldn't have trouble programming it.

Between the 44 Live Trax's and the 30 or so DMBLive Series releases plus Studio and Nationally released live shows, the could easily fill a station up. Add in other artists from time to time and it would be a great station.

I actually disagree. thats only about 100 shows, or 2000 songs roughly. I dont think thats nearly enough. The greatful dead channel probably has 50 shows from every year they played (30 years). That channel is fresh, the DMB one would be stale as hell after a month.

44 Live Trax + 30 DMB Live = 74 the remaining 26 i considered in store releases and studio albums. its probably off by a few, but the point is the full Grateful Dead channel has 30,000 songs to pull from. not ~2000.
