![]() Good point. I forgot that he supposedly drove 1,200 miles to hear the song. A part of me still doesn't believe him though. |

What I think James meant by his "2/17/97 is the only DIKG that matters" comment, is in actuality he was thinking of the 2/21/97 performance: Blue Water --> DIKG -->Typical.

What are your favorite 90's performances? I love 6/13/97.

That’s definitely a great performance, but I still think that the 2/17 one is the best individual performance of DIKG. But yeah, I definitely can’t say that 2/21 doesn’t matter. That run is pretty incredible.

One day, I hope we get all four of those D&T '97 shows officially released. It would be amazing.

I am not re-opening this topic, but
The early Blue Waters are when DMB had their most gratefully dead moments. Also, Heathcliff’s Haiku Warriors became Crazy became Captain right? I like Crazy much more than i’ve ever liked Captain. Crazy was another part that made those ‘97 D&T shows special.

I like the 6/18/96 performance with Leon Mobley on percussion. His percussion reminds me of what Carter does on Crash.
Really, most of the 1996 performances stand out as the greatest DIDOs. So many fiery versions. 7/27/97 with the 'metal' prelude is an awesome one. |

I especially enjoyed the setlist chat on the first night of the '04 tour, when the first new song played was called "New Song #2".

I also vividly remember being in a theater watching the Phish webcast on 6/17 and looking at the live setlist and seeing "New Song #2" come across first. I was like "WAIT. New Song #2? Where's #1???"

Ah. Crazy was changed a bit more as it became Captain than hmm? was when it became titled GGT. Was the D&F debut of GGT before Tinely Park?

Some of those Crazy's are definitely gems and it's one of the many highlights of that tour IMO
