It’s confusing because there’s one part in the verse where dave switches from two base notes to one and then to three and back to two.

once you get the bassline memorized, it becomes way easy. dave sometimes plays the treble notes with alternate index, ring finger picking and sometimes just both at the same time which i've found to be easier because i suck at finger picking.

i think thats just an ad-lib on his part. the "standard" version in my opinion would just be two bass notes everywhere

interesting. i'll have to try it out. now my muscle memory is pretty locked in to the two beats version, it'll be interesting to see if i can change it up

in your #34, something's not quite right with the timing of 7-7-9 part where you tap twice in between the notes at the end of the main riff. feels like you're skipping a beat or counting it incorrectly.

on a positive note, your SMTS video really helped me finally play the main riff in a way that makes sense.

ahhhh crap you're right... i was counting off basically an extra 1/3rd rest in the 7-7-9 part
