I don't know what happened with that site... I remember back in the day it was the go to place. But yeah, like Thrawn said, I think davetabs is probably the go to now

Interesting. Between learning all those dmb tunes years ago and now working on proggy metal stuff, I can look at a tab and pick out chord structures and even visualize the finger movements required. Not a brag, just a fortunate side effect of staring at so many tabs I suppose.

I’ve pretty much mastered Dave’s entire collection. Now I’m trying to learn Tim’s parts. Kinda fun. Working on Recently now. Learning scales for solo’ing. Learned a Tim song yesterday. Hopeful Heresy. A really fun one to play.

Too Much is a song where you can’t really appreciate the guitar playing in the full band setting. It’s like a completely different song acoustically.

It's funny, I learned to play DMB songs by ear before the internet was what it is now and video was everywhere. Your videos show me how wrong I was on many of these songs, but fuck it, it's fun to be an old codger who learned before the new-fangled technology took over. Get off my lawn, Tim!

hahaha no I definitely know what you mean... most of "my" versions that I would play just sitting around noodling are to still play them the same way I learned them years ago, with little weird voicing here and there that aren't right... or in some cases unnecessarily complicating some part that in reality is more sparse

this is one that I literally never knew correctly until today... I watched that solo version that he did a few months ago on electric and when he moves in the chorus from the first E voicing, hitting that B voicing, before finally landing on the standard E major it made me realize that I've never caught that middle chord correctly... never really even knew it was there

same i mean, i don't mind being "wrong" about certain things, like exact voicings. but there are certain things that i just never knew at all and seeing it this way makes it much easier to learn than reading a tab

unrelated, but any other electric players here ever test their knowledge of TR's parts on LT34?! It's perfect for playing along, as the band was clearly still kind of in the 98 carryover groove, just without tim. I had a lot of random fun playing along to Two Step (playing over Dave's "solo"), Crush, Rapunzel, BOWA, LS.
Obviously plenty of other releases to do this with, but kinda love the breadth of material on LT34!
