I still really like Crush but I miss the Jeff and Tim duels of 08/09. When did they get rid of it? I feel like it was in 2010 right around when they got rid of Jeff on #41.

How Jeff fits that Linus and Lucy interpolation into his wild Dreaming Tree flute solo, I do not know.

Interesting typ sit outro. Jeff is mixed insanely low on the outro. Probably my only complaint about the mix.

Interesting how during this Typical they fake going back into the chorus from the 7/8 jam a few times.

Dave's Two Step intro is lyrically very similar to the Live In Lucca one from a month later in 2009.

This is so much better than I was expecting. Jeff throws down highlight after highlight in a ridiculous number of showcase solos, Boyd is in tune, and the band actually sounds like Dave Matthews Band! The mix is fantastic. Ross and Tim are pretty low, acoustic is nice and loud, Boyd is present and generally not embarrassing. Excluding '08, which is a bit of a different situation, this has to be the best 3.0 release. Maybe Atlantic City, but it's a close one. This is great.

But seriously. Jeff motherfucking Coffin. Ridiculous solos on four different instruments in this motherfucker, and he destroys every single one of them. He even kills the miniature sax solo in Ants Marching.

It's also the only 3.0 Ants Marching released that isn't a sloppy mess. That whole Stone > ASTB > (Too Much) > Ants, #40, Dreaming Tree run is just ridiculous.

I'd agree it's right up there with Atlantic City for best 3.0 release.

Just started listening to this this morning for the first time. Only about 5 or 6 songs in, but liking it so far. The mix is great, which is so essential for 3.0 releases, and they've really been so hit and miss on them, so nice to hear a good mix. Looking forward to listening to the rest.
