I wish I had the money to have a 3rd "fun" car. As it is, though, we'll probably need to replace the wife's car here in the next few years -- so any discretionary car spending is off the table unless I can land a few paying side-clients (v. my freeloading friends in need of legal help on stuff).

I got the redesigned Rav4 last year. Absolutely love it. Pretty sleek looking, gets good MPG for what it is and all the bells and whistles are nice. Back up game, BT, nav, nice JBL sound system. Has all of the stuff that I personally want/need in a car. I'm not a big gear head, so as long as it functions well and has some cool features I'm happy.

I'm going to have to consider a new car in the next year or two. I love my Land Cruiser, but I think I want a Tundra. Though I'll probably end up making my decision solely based on MPGs and end up with a leaf or some shit ![]()

You might end up driving it more than anyone. I had an old series III land rover at the end of high school and into college & loved it. We had so much fun with that. Then got a Defender 90 during college. Best truck. Very sad day when I sold that. It wasn't until they were wheeling it up onto the flatbed to take it to NYC that I first realized I would probably never have another. And 5 years & two kids later, I consider I was probably 100% right.

Sigh. Our little guy is 19 weeks old now. In the last three weeks we've dealt with him having a cold > ear infection and then both my wife and I got sick. Now he's feeling better but the little dude has such a hard time sleeping. He didn't nap at all yesterday (always had a hard time with naps) and last night was rough. He thrashes around so much in his sleep he keeps waking himself (and us) up.
Nearly 5 months of bad sleep is starting to wear on us. Anybody have some signs of hope or advice? Or are we doomed? ![]() |

Nothing practical to tell you, but I did go through the same kind of stuff with 4 kids and I still live to talk about it ![]() Just enjoy him. Before you know it, he'll be a wise-ass teenager. |

On an unrelated note, I'm alive everyone! I made it back from Europe!

Check out the new Toyota Highlander. I was in the market for one until I decided on my 2014 Acura MDX.
