Just finished listening to this one. I remember at one point listening to a lot of '03 shows seeing if I could find something good and hitting this show. It's not bad compared to most of the shows in June and July, but it's all relative. It's really too bad because this is a killer setlist and everyone is playing well, except for Boyd. He renders some of these songs just completely unlistenable. Pig, Billies, and Crash were the biggest examples. Then there are other songs where he's just fine. I actually think this is a great #41. The best parts of this show are really good - Pay For, DIDO, and the aforementioned Typical (this Blue Water > Typical would make a great Warehouse 5/8 cut). But overall, I'd pass on listening to this again. There's just too many good shows where everyone is on to listen to a show that only gets you 5 out of 6.

Yeah having the video was great, nice find. I noticed Jay used Shambro's tape, but used a different source for the patch which I really appreciated. The patch Shambro used is awful.

Up to "PFWYG" so far...really enjoying the show so far. Noticed that Dave messed up a lot on this version of "Pig".

I know I'm not an active part of this group, but I do check it out often. I think 1999 gets a bad rap and they certainly are some sleepy shows, but I think everyone focuses on the shows the famous shows for the "good" parts of the tour. Like Giant's and Virginia Beach and Nissan and the Creek » Milwaukee run. However I think the less played gems of the tour are the Burgettstown shows. 6.3 was a popular tape back in 99 and 00, but I think the lack of a pristine converted source when that got popular has kind of caused a generation or two of fans that joined on after 2002 or so may not have heard more than Say Goodbye that I post here about once a year and made it my personal pick for the TDC compilation. But there is a ton to love about this show. It has a little bit of "Boyd 99" in it in Pig, but nowhere near as bad as "Boyd 03." Outside of that, the show is just about perfect, and high energy. Furthermore I LOVE this Lie In Our Graves if that tells you something. So if you guys feel the need to check out a 99, and there hasn't been one done yet after 19 shows, I'd like to nominate 6.3.99 as a show that needs more love. It may be hard to track down at this point. Hell, I would love it if we could find Vance and maybe have this reconverted to 2012 standards. I had a brief e-mail conversation right after I got this to see if he did 6.4 also (he didn't), but haven't heard anything about him since.

Ok, so I finally finished 07.03.03 last night via the YouTube video posted. I have listened to bits and pieces of this show over the years, but meter in its entirety. I thoroughly enjoyed this choice and the set list flowed unbelievably well. On the technical side, the show was somewhat sloppy. As usual, Dave forgot lyrics and Boyd was typical early 2003 Boyd. I still don't know how he forgot his main line in the chorus of "Fool To Think"

Are we all ready for the next show, or do we need some more time?

Don't mind if I do. Though celluloid mentioned 6/3/99 and I wouldn't mind if he had a pick first since I've had plenty of picks in the past.

Nice. Glad you guys are checking this out. At the very worst, maybe it will inspire people to check out a few more '99s as I think the entire year has been written off as boring, lazy and plodding for the newer generation fan. It's not an entirely bunk argument, the show I listened to the other day was certainly the definition of it, but there are gems that aren't 5.12, 5.26, 5.30 & 6.5. At the best, it's an amazing Say Goodbye, a great Lie In Our Graves and Two Step. The rest is uptempo and a clear recording certainly helps.
