Itís really wild how refreshing they sounded in 2018 vs 2016. By 2016 I really thought the sound of the band was a lost cause. Like early 3.0. was fine, but by 2016 it was a total mess. Very little improve, jumbled, and often a fast pace with no room to breath. Thatís what the sound had come to. 2018 rolls around they drop Boyd, and they are terrible the first show in February. They add Buddy they do some rehearing, and of a sudden its a totally different product. They slow it down (in a good way) and basically just let the music breath. I still have my complaints with this lineup (mostly Rashawn), but its been such a breath of fresh air. Pig, Say Bye, Raven, Bartender, Captain, Grace, Typical, SUAD, Seek Up, Spoon, JTR, YNK all sound incredible with this line up.
I agree 100%. I hate what the "horn section" has done to the band, but overall I'm very happy with how they sound these days.

Best version of Rapunzel this band's done (8.25.03)

Unsure where the full source came from - probably on copperpot somewhere. can't seem to find the video on youtube anymore but do have the full show on a harddrive somewhere.

So almost two years ago I went to a Fleetwood Mac concert in NOLA. It was such a good time in a really fun city. I can’t help but think a DMB show would be awesome in New Orleans. Yeah they play jazz fest every few years, but those are short festival basic sets. The last non festival show in Nola? Dave was playing the Chet, mtv was filming a special called crashing the quarter, and the year was 1996. That’s insanity. I realize no proper outdoor venue exists, but they can play the Smoothy King Center easy. You would think a show like that would be slam dunk. Sure they aren’t the band they once were, but it would sell good enough. It makes way more sense then playing an arena show in some random place like Little Rock or Pensacola.

Iíve always shared this opinion. Shouldíve kicked off the 2009 tour there.

Would love a proper non-jazz fest show here. There were rumors a few years ago that they were going to play the baseball stadium (it's in the suburbs, but basically still the city) but that never happened.

I saw Dave and Tim there a few years back. 2013 maybe? Very good time all around. Would like to see a proper dmb show there.

Though I was roped in with 94-95 DMB, this will always be what I gravitate to when thinking of the perfect DMB sound. Big present acoustic guitar single note licks, balanced attack by the original members, rock sentiments with jazz execution, and an interesting and somehow not-busy drummer. God DAMN

That ASTB segue into PNP/Rapunzel is so damn smooth. Wow. Loved how they did some creative ASTB segues in 2003.
