Oh yeah, that's what I heard. Trey's wife put the kibosh on any more Dave & Friends shows or something like that. Anyway, I don't think there's been one since 2006.

They're airing Live in Chicago on SXM and I listened to it while I was (incidentally) stuck in traffic on the Dan Ryan expressway. Anyway, it was interesting to go back to that show after many years since listening. Maceo Parker's solo on WWYS was awesome, and Tim's solo on Watchtower was absolutely horse shit.
Thanks for reading my post. |

Really good versions of 41, The Last Stop, What Would You Say, The Maker, Crash, Christmas Song, Stay.
Is there a better released version of Crash? I like the one with Paul McCandless on on 12.31.96 but that's not really what the song normally sounds like. |

I don't know what it is about the performance, but Crash (7/20/04) from the Stand Up companion disc is really nice. Maybe it's just the mix (that Recently is also one of the best mixed live tracks, even though it's not the best performance) but for me that version of Crash Into Me is up there. I go back to it quite often. I go back to that whole disc quite often to be honest.

Crash pretty much always sounds the same to me, so mix is probably going to be the deciding factor. I've always really liked the LS and CP versions because the mix is spot on.

LT42 version of Crash is my favorite, from the acoustic set. The mix and Tim on acoustic sounds great. Also the LT7 version with Paul McCandless

LiC Maker and the Last Stop are pure gold. That’s the type of music you can play to a non-believer and watch them convert. I have a real hard time coming up with better released live tracks than those two. Mr. Maceo Parker’s solo on WWYS is definitely tits as well.

That Maker is still my absolute favorite version of all time, and that Last Stop is perfect too. Love Maceo's solo on WWYS and even that Jimi and LIOG are great. And you 41 with Wooten is another all-time great version. Def gets overlooked a lot, probably because of the Boyd editing they did etc. and the mix isn't the overall best..but yeah I love that show to death.

Last Stop and Maker are my two biggest takeaways from that release, though I loved that LIOG until I realized it was fake, which kind of tarnished it.
Overall it’s a good release but not as good as Red Rocks, Luther, Listener Supported or Central Park as far as pre-LT releases go.

Yeah the whole Boyd solo was re-recorded because it was so terrible.

I always though Sirius sounded like crap and the LiC showed just how bad it is.
Sounds nowhere near the cd. I get it’s is compressed but the quality of Sirius is so bad to me. |
