Not much to add that hasn't already been said about 6/7/98. What a great show. Back to Alexandria and Pig are my two favorite tracks. Pretty great BOWA opener. The BTCS songs sound a bit more polished than earlier in 1998 - nice Butch on Rapunzel, Crush was pretty sweet, DDTW and Stay with Bela, etc.

I love the last verse in Crash also, just Dave, Stefan and Carter stripped down before everything picks back up on the “crash” downbeat.
Perfect E1 that night, and played like an E1. Example of how that show is so much more perfect than guests, and some rarities. |

We just did 1994 and 1998. Let's keep the +4 pattern up and do a 2002.
7/9/2002 is my pick. Definitely in the mood for this year and I love the energy this summer tour brings. This show has Mike Durham guesting on Two Step and Loving Wings > WAYG.

PS - love Boyd's distortion picking on Watchtower. This isn't the best version of him doing that, but I love that sound.

Thank you! I wanted a Summer 2002 because I find the performances much more energetic and full compared to spring or winter 2002 shows. July and August 2002 are pretty underrated in my book. Plus this one has guest performances which was pretty rare for that tour.

I'd like to make a suggestion if I can. 9/3/05 [Only registered users can see links.]
I don't think I've ever listened to this show and I would like to hear the first live performance of Everybody Wake Up.

Wow LeRoi lines after “I swear” on this Stone! He puts a little extra on it. It’s slow, but very tasteful!

That Stone is super hot, for sure. Love what I hear from Fonz in Grey Street.
Should finish up 7/9/02 tomorrow or this weekend and then move along to the 2005 how Brandon posted.

7/9/02 review
I listened to the IEM. Band is psyched after The Stone opener. Grey Street had a lot of energy and you can really hear Fonz doing work on this recording. Two Step with Durham was a really nice highlight, I loved what he did throughout the song, little additions here and there. Plus his solo in the outro was good enough. Dave started LW right after so Durham had some minimal additions on that as well. OSW stood out as a solid performance. Dave had some lyrics issues in Crush, but had some nice flourishes on the acoustic during the outro. Overall a pretty solid ***1/4. Band has great chemistry behind the scenes. Before Ants Dave mentions they hadn't played Ants in Nashville since 1996.
