Well said. It does sound like one of those $20 starter guitars you can buy at Walmart.

I have never heard a brand of guitar sound so consistently awful.
Apologies ended for these guitars. This was stereo target mic'd with a pickup. And yes, there was some audio compression from the streaming, but I've seen countless streams with people playing guitars that sound better than these. I'm sure this guy makes a well-crafted guitar, but man, do they sound bad. Dave even played Dodo with some ringing chords with less palm muting than some of his recent solo songs. Ugh. Sounds like a guitar made of poop |

Pretty much, yes. Very high end guitar. Means nothing though. The woods are expensive. Dave’s sound dreadful.

I know this is somewhat off topic here, but since you all are discussing guitars, I want to learn to play the guitar, but don’t really know where to start. I’ve heard good things about the Jamstik as a learning tool, do any of you players have any input?

Buy your guitar and then go to YouTube and search Marty Schwartz.

I teach guitar lessons for a living and I’ve been doing all FaceTime/Zoom lessons during the pandemic, I’d you’re interested hit me up with a DM. You can always go to YouTube, but it’s much easier to learn when you have someone actually pushing, motivating you and the fact you have to see them once a week forces you to practice.

I know this turned into a guitar talk thread, but I wound up looking at the Rockbridge Instagram page and there are several “celebrity” endorsers of the guitars. Almost all of them are associated in some form or fashion to Dave. He must really push these guitars on his friends. Also, I find the ChikaPig or whatever thing really stupid and Dave’s interaction with the owner of Rockbridge guitars rather annoying.

Taylors are what they are... I don't care for the tone, but I understand the appeal of their feel/playability. These Rockbridge though... you're absolutely right. I suspect they play and feel amazing, probably taking the feel of a Taylor and chasing max playability at the complete expense of tonal quality. I bet they all have the absolute minimum amount of break angles across the nut and saddle that can be achieved and still project sound. Rockbridge seems to be a complete waste of the rare tonewoods used to make them
