In actual fact, that was an assignment I gave to my intro programming students in the 6th week of class...

I’m no computer guy, but I run reports for a living and yeah, that’s Excel 101.

What language are you teaching the youth and what grade do you teach? I learned Java in 9th grade

I teach at a math/science magnet school; all the freshmen are required to take a year of Java. It's most of the APCS-A curriculum, minus ArrayLists and recursion. (I also teach the second year, which is the rest of APCS-A and data structures, and a semester CS elective in Cryptography. It's a great gig.)

Good shit. Java was such a solid starting language for me to learn Classes, Inheritance, Polymorphism, and Encapsulation. I now work in JavaScript which really doesn’t use any of those concepts, but still glad I had that foundation. I think in the not too distant future, classes like yours will move to Swift.

I was watching classic albums the other night on axs, looking at the band's brown album.

One of my favorite parts of that series is they put the artists and producer back in the studio with the isolated instruments on the sounboard so the different members can mute some instruments, turn up others and talk about specific details in the recordings.

Something like this would be so cool for BTCS. Especially if you could grab some time not only with Dave/Carter/Lillywhite but also Tim, Bela, and some of the other guests.

I’m no computer guy but a ‘series of posts’ sounds complicated.

I can’t stand Brandi Carlile’s voice. Right up there with Willie Nelson and Bob Dylan for me. Woof.
