(Now ex) girlfriend dragged me into it.

1) Waters can’t sing or really even play well anymore
2) As such, his backup band does most of the heavy lifting, including vocals at least half of the time. Which means I paid a shit load of money to basically see a Pink Floyd cover band. I figured Waters would at least try to sing Gilmore’s parts. Nope. Some hippy with a man bun did.
3) The whole thing was so forcefully politically-driven that it came across as disingenuous showmanship.
4) He cut “Mother” for some cheesy, Godawful new solo song
5) Everyone around me was some rich douche that went just to say thy saw Roger Waters live, as they all seemed to know like two songs and just stood there staring around and bragging to each other about material-wealth-related things (we rented Lamborghinis this weekend and raced!) the rest of the show.
6) If I wanted lasers I’d go to an EDM show for $20 and have a far better time.

Half the crowd was totally there to say they “were there.” Dull, smug, boring people everywhere. Not my scene AT ALL.

I’ve probably been to 150-200 concerts in my life and that concert was absolutely the worst, most insufferable thing I’ve ever sat through. I’d see any 2005 DMB show before I ever subjected myself to that bullshit, pretentious garbage again.

In fairness, that hippy in a man bun puts on a good show himself... in small venues for like 20 bucks.

I caught Roger Waters on the Wall tour at wrigley a few years ago. It was a good time, but don't think I'll see him again.

Saw The Wall in arenas in like 2012 or something, it was phenomenal and like $75 for tenth row lower level seats by the stage.

We gave each other an "um, hi" type greeting. My daughters were pretty jealous when I told them back at the seats
So you taught your daughters to hang around the men's room at teeny bopper concerts.....?

I saw a show on that tour (or around then) and had pretty decent lodge seats at td garden and I remeber thinking they were cazy expensive (at the time). I’ll dig the stub out, but I remember I ordered all the tickets for our group and was thinking, “Shiiiiit, I better get this money back.” I want to say it was well over $100 a seat. But, maybe I’m losing it.

Mine came to 93.20 per ticket after fees for floor on that tour

There hasn’t been any indication either way, but I’d be surprised, pleasantly, if he’s there.

I don’t know that there’s room for butch atop the wall of noise.

Agreed. The C-ville benefit definitely bears that out.

Yeah they don’t really need more noise at this point. You’d have to replace someone else. Plus what would Dave do if he couldn’t play the piano?

That alone is worth bringing butch back

Get rid of Ross either way, he is just noise. Listen to some of the dave and trey show if you need current proof

Are there any other venues besides Holmdel and Shoreline that don't have a GA Pit section this tour?

I wish they would do this because he is terrible. At this point I don't think it's realistic that they would ever kick him out of this band.

The best thing we can hope for is to have Jeff take over most of the solos.

I don’t mind canned horns if they’d ALSO take the chains off of Jeff for solos and not let Rashawn squeal/solo.

Can't stand that. I know exactly what you mean, too. His sound doesn't breath. I truly wish he played more now like he did when he guested back in 2000. There's definitely a whine to his sound now for the most part that really grates on my ears.

This isn't ever going to happen, we all have to stop asking for it, it's just not a realistic solution. I think he's there to stay for the long haul. It's honestly a pretty simple solution--everyone in the band needs to stop overplaying. It's constant fight between all members and no one listens to each other. The only person on stage overplaying should be Jeff, and then 10% Carter in his spots. But what it is right now is everyone in the band basically taking a solo at the same time constantly. OR it's like the new songs where no one plays anything except Dave, and it's basically a snoozer solo song.
