Who was claiming full band? I thought the other person that posted about was unsure.

And I posted last week that I had heard it was Dave and Tim.

Not going to go back and look, but d.m.b.fan222 said there would be another full band show in January.

Gotta say full band at Irving would have been pretty damn cool, but d&t sure will be as well.

Laughable how warehouse still holds you hostage to shitty seats when requesting. why the fuck would anyone order tickets through them unless you're getting VIP? I've lost the lottery enough times having to unload shitty seats that I'll go with citi pre or public sale to get pit.

no positive thinking will help you in the complete debacle of the warehouse lottery system.

Yep sorry about that, was trying to share here and my source was mistaken. I got very excited about DMB at that venue when I heard!

It's a rumor, no need to apologize. I wasn't trying to flagellate anyone, just clarifying what got announced

I would definitely pick dd if I knew they would be flacs. I assume there will be some digital package with extra shit that I would most likely buy, but I would definitely want a nice set of web flacs.

Is it that big of a deal to shell out an extra $30 to see one of your favorite bands? Most of us are adults with real jobs.

It’s about the principle of it. They all have plenty of money and have no need to raise it. It’s not like they’re having trouble supporting their families. While other artists charge more for their shows, those artists are also mainstream acts that are currently popular and on the radio, or legends like Springsteen, Dead and Co (with John Mayer btw who is a popular mainstream artist still). Their tickets were already above bands like Phish and there’s no reason for them to raise it other than that they can. It’s not people won’t go, but the gripe that it went up is totally justified imo. They haven’t even put out new music in 5+ years and yes there’s a “new album coming” but it’s still not cool.

They were already fifty dollars overpriced, and they add another thirty on top.

You know damn well some dude has the sole job of deciding who gets what seats on the “random” seat selection nights at shows, and they’re browsing the boards and see this Typsitch guy constantly bitching. And he says, “Fuck that guy, Section 204 row YY for him”

I felt like they did it because it was an abbreviated tour last year, concert prices in general have been increasing and it includes a copy of the album. Also remember they are paying their crew, who do need the money. I just don't think it's as outrageous as a lot of people do. We'll see how ticket sales turn out.

I understand they are a business (machine) and it’s someones job to make decipcions that make the most sense from a financial standpoint. And I believe unequivocally that summerfest+2 Chicago is a bigger financial positive for dmb than 2 nights at alpine.

But the other part of me goes, you guys are filthy rich. Wouldn’t you rather play there, no curfew/destination type venue instead of 3 more generic shows at shitty venues? Isn’t it more fun? Or maybe it’s really all the same when you got to their level/time on the road.

no more alpine bitching from me

Increased concert prices have little to do with actual rising costs, imo. Artists realized they could basically cut scalpers out and take their profits too. Ticketmaster has some tix now that are priced based on the market and change in cost every hour. The Ayn Rand lover in me thinks this is awesome, but I’m honest enough to admit it’s pure greed.
