Too bad there’s not a gambling feature here. It’d be great to be able to place wagers

Would want Butch, but I don't see it happening.

I'll take point on it. The DMBook. So many things we can get action going on.

We got one show WITH Butch in September. And one show WITHOUT a violin in February. I can't believe anyone loved what Butch did so much in that one show (he did nothing) that they would choose that over what we got in February's grim Boyd-less show. Kind of blows my mind.

Butch did a lot, did you hear the soundcheck clip? He was all over those songs. He was turned way down and the camera never panned to him for some reason.

Never saw soundcheck footage.
But part of me believes heíll get drowned out or turned down at any show, the way they overmix Tim these days.

Charlottesville was a one-off oddball scenario. The techs dmb works with have extensive experience and worked with Butch for years. Have you seen the rigs they run? If anything Tim wouldn't have to cover so much ground with Butch on stage.

I also never heard the soundcheck - if that's around I'd love to check it out.

I thought the mix was weird, but I wouldn't write Butch off for that one show. I would much rather see him back up there than a replacement violinist. Although I'd like Butch to avoid the cheesy synth and stick to the piano or organ depending on the tune.

Yeah, you can hardly blame Butch for the fact that he was basically mixed out of that show. Hearing him on Warehouse was my favorite part of that entire performance.

We're not sure if Butch is even any good anymore. He sure as hell sucked for a lot of 2005-2007 and he never was a great player to begin with. And it's not like he's been keeping his chops up playing with other acts, right? He's only been doing the local scene occasionally in C'Ville. If he slides in and sounds like 2000-2002 Butch, I'd love it, but I don't think that happens.

That's why I voted for a new violin player. Get a good BT replacement who blends well with DMB and can nail his parts/solos and the band suddenly becomes extremely exciting again for me. DMB 3.0 with a great, consistent violin player would be something totally new.

Yeah the opportunity to finally hear DMB with a competent violinist is too good to turn down.

Yeah but your missing that part that these guys already lost a founding member and bringing a violin replacement will create a sticky situation when/if Boyd comes back because itíll be a major downgrade. Having Butch would still leave a space open for Boyd to come back anytime and still suck (Butch will be there to cover)

Violin much more integral to dmb's sound than the piano.

Wow, I can't believe this poll is almost evenly split. Bring back butch is the same nostalgia bringing back the ladies was. Butch can do some nice things sure, his fills mostly, but his solos are insufferable.

If the new violinist was good, Iím not sure I would really want Boyd back.

I don't see Butch coming back... I do see them adding a violinist. It's a part of DMB's sound, despite Boyd... and I want Boyd back asap if it's possible
