Bela for Tim + new violin player.

There are thousands of bands out there without violin and sax players. When I listen to DMB, it's partly because those sounds from those instruments are there. I think everyone can agree on that.....need a replacement.

That's fine, but if they knew about this and kept it secret until after the on sale, that's fucking fraud.

No one has mentioned Everyday..... a big crowd favorite and a key part to that song as well...

Let's pause and list all the songs that will noticeably be different (not saying they can't exist without violin, but will change):

Ants Marching
Tripping Billies
Lie In Our Graves
Seek Up
Crush
Song That Jane Likes
#41
Grace is Gone
Big Eyed Fish
Bartender
One Sweet World
Sweet Up and Down
Louisiana Bayou
Pig
You Might Die Trying
Funny the Way It Is
Alligator Pie
Two Step (intro)
The Stone
Eh Hee
Recently
Raven
Typical Situation
Jimi Thing
Rhyme and Reason
Dancing Nancies
Warehouse
Broken Things
Belly Belly Nice
Drunken Soldier
American Baby Intro
#27
Cornbread
American Baby
Too Much
Sleep to Dream Her
Everyday (wow, forgot this one, but it's pretty significant)
True Reflections (obviously; guess I'll never catch this song live)

Funnily enough, absolutely nothing written since AFTW.

This is some dumb shit man. “The violin dude?” If you saw this band in the 90s Boyd was the energy. No one had seen anything like him - he controlled the crowd. Sad that it’s ending like this. Feel bad for the guy.

Crazy. Ton of good songs in there. You also forgot Too Much. Shows are about to get really, really interesting. I personally don't see how they can come close effectively pull this off. All I can hear here are more horns and a lot more squeaking.

dont get me wrong, i never thought boyd was good, but we are kidding ourselves if we dont think that there will be something very noticeably missing from a lot of songs.

I could be wrong, but didn't someone mention seeing "2 sets" somewhere referring to the 2018 tour? If so, could that be any indication on this decision?

Someone wanna TL;DR the Crystal Garden “accusation” thing? I haven’t followed band news lately.

Boyd has been awful and they’ve been hiding it for YEARS. Everyone step back from the ledge....the songs will be fine.

Also, we’ve got years worth of tapes, you want nostalgia? Go listen.

Considering the total negativity and hopelessness on the boards lately, I think this is the main takeaway. Seems this will force most of us to move on, and possibly fall in love with a new iteration of the band. Hell, people adored D&F. We're possibly just getting closer to that.

No details, just a dude who quit crystal garden made a Facebook post implying Boyd was a perpetrator

It's definitely not cool. It doesn't effect my ticket purchasing, but the lack of honesty is pretty wrong.

DMB is done as you know it. You don't lose Roi and Boyd.

Dave needs to go solo, fast.
