I wish people wouldn’t compare DMB to U2 and Taylor Swift. Apples and oranges.

DMB isn't that group.
Just listing Top 25 touring acts who charge more. Agree DMB has much less mainstream appeal, but they seem to have data that shows they can charge these prices otherwise they wouldn't be charging them.

My Mayer lowers were $150 each. As were my Dead and Company tickets. Both decent comparison to DMB, I’d say.

I would imagine that the year off and new album went into that calculation. It’ll remain to be seen if those actually rouse any of the people that have stopped going to shows over the past several years.

And Taylor Swift type acts are admittedly a bad comparison, their lowers are $250+ each. So $115 for DMB seems just about right.

The prices and the increase are what they are. For me it's at this point in my life with all of my family things going is it worth it to travel so far to see them. We know all of the discussions about their sets, but to me the venue plays a big part of whether or not it's worth the cost also.

That's a leap to a conclusion.

DMB routinely miscalculate ticket demand for as far aback as we can remember.

2nd cville in 2001 got cancelled for poor ticket sales
The caravan debacle that sold 1/3 of the tickets they thought they'd sell
Years combine now, but was it 2014 tour that the venues were all like half full and the next year they had to cut a bunch of places like Scranton, 2nd Pittsburgh, etc

Seems doubtful with 2 Chicago shows and Milwaukee. That would be oversaturation. Very weird though.

I've seen both U2 and Coldplay and didn't pay anywhere near that cost. Killers for $115? Please.

I just paid $250 to see Roger Waters this fall and I was still like 30 rows back. And it was probably the worst, most pretentious concert I’ve ever seen in my life

Was going to say this. Although, John Mayer is definitely different than DMB, Dead Co is pretty spot on.

I'd consider Hartford but I'll see what the shows look like before committing to anything.

Totally agree. Compared to ANY other band of their stature, they're actually just under what almost all other big bands are asking for lowers. If that increase is going to make sure your decision easier, than maybe DMB is truly just not for you anymore. When it comes to the general public, I would bet most are not as offended as some people on here. It is what it is these days. It costs a lot to see the big acts. I really hope some people didn't expect them to charge less because they took a year off and "aren't relevant" anymore.
