In 2008, i guess id rather hear Seek Up, Grey Street, Rhyme & Reason and #27 (rothbury) over DDTW, Two Step, Stay and Old Dirt Hill (Mile High). And I also think the proudest monkey from rothbury is much better.

The latter list just seems so basic, and i thought that two step was just pure noise. I also hated the mix for Mile High. Just not a good show for me.

Yeah I agree with the Mile High mix. Always thought it was a mediocre show too.

Agree with this. Even watching it that night, my buddies and I were all pretty underwhelmed. The sound wasn't good and something about the show just seemed flat.

At the time, I liked having ODH on that set because of how refreshed it was that tour. Two Step was also great in 2008, IMO.

Two Step was great in June 2008 to me. The one from Busch Stadium as an opener is great, super driving, light and airy, and just really brings it home at the solos. The one I saw SPAC N1 was FANTASTIC. I think thats my favorite two step of all time.

Towards the end of the year they changed how Carter and Tim were doing the solos and i just didnt enjoy all the noise.

I may be in the minority, but I like Rio the best of the 2008 releases, followed by Alpine, Busch, Mile High and Nissan. 2008 was a good tour, none of these releases are “bad.”

Yeah, I think that's the correct order.

I probably agree here, give or take Alpine and Busch maybe switching spots (hard to compare the Coffin shows to the Roi shows). I have almost every release from 2008, something I can't say for any other post-2000 year...

Also I saw both Rothbury and Mile High webcasts when they aired that year and I thought Rothbury had a lot better energy. Rothbury was only the 2nd or 3rd show the band played after Coffin joined up so there was a fire under their ass at that point, and the fans were pumped up as well, probably why Rothbury trumps Mile High, which was a month plus after Coffin came in.

Yeah that Busch Two Step is awesome. The one I caught at Mansfield 2008 was pretty sweet as well. June '08 was a top tier month for the band IMO.

Not going to that N1 is one of my big dmb regrets, that and not going to shows a lot sooner. The Stone opener, Dreaming Tree with Roi and Crush at SPAC was insane. I imagine it was just as good 4 days later.

My order is:

Busch
Alpine
Rio
Nissan
Dick's

but i think they are just scratching the surface on the best shows that year.

No, that’s the 2007 one. And it wasn’t a ‘pa malfunction,’ iirc, it was just that rashawn was singing into a non vocal instrument mic.

Yeah lots of good shows that year. Would not be unhappy with more '08 releases. I went to 4 in June, the most I ever went to in a single tour and I don't regret it at all. If anything wish I'd caught a few more.

Would really love Scranton and WPB N1 released from 2008; first and foremost. Mansfield, both nights, too.

Does anyone know where i can listen to this again? I just remember it was a terrible pick because it was performed like 5 other times that tour and this one had a big fuzzy feedback coming through in the one unique part of the song.

They would all be that way though because he didn’t have a vocal mic.

Not to sound selfish but the show I attended were great and I wouldn't mind seeing them released. Both Mansfields and N2 of Hartford and SPAC. SPAC N2 always gets talked about but the Hartford N2 show was so damn good...
