Central Park | 10 Years (Now 17!)

Came at the peak, or near peak, of the Band's fame. I got convinced to go by my roommate. His words were "In 10 years, people will ask you if you were at this show." I thought he was right, so I lied to my professor so I could take a test early and we hit the road.

I also told him the Band wouldn't be touring regularly in 10 years. And I've now lost $10.

So, who was there?

Was there front and center... great show. Will have to rip the DVD out this weekend, haven't watched it in a while.

Pretty great show, but being there had to be miserable, right?

I remember watching the webcast. Oddly enough I remember the setlist being considered a "greatest hits/fan-friendly" set at the time, which was a point against it since that tour had so many rarities during it. But it's a great show with great performances and at this point one of the most iconic/significant.

I've watched the DVD countless times. Wish I was there.

Wow.... already 10 years huh...

Wasn't there, but this was during my full-fledge obsessive stage in my fandom. Probably one of the coolest images, the great lawn packed full of people. I can't imagine what it was like to be there.

that was pretty much my thought and why I didn't go. I was in a lull of my fandom at that point anyway, still hurting from the sting of '01. I remember my wife and I discussing going, but we had just had our 3rd baby, weeknight, didn't want to deal with clusterfuck of people, etc.. I don't even regret not going. Between the DVD and CD, I'm content with it.

not at all. I had a freakin ball. the mad dash to the train station after the show to get back across the river was a little crazy, but, i certainly wouldn't have traded not going.

This was right before I went from casual fan to hardcore fan so sadly I didn't make the trip out for this. Great show still.

When Leroi passed some friends who I regularly attended shows with got together to "wake" him and we wanted to watch one of the DVDs, this is the one we went with that night.

I did VIP, was well worth it for that show (and Golden Gate Park the next year as well).

I had boots on the ground at this shitfest. Getting in was an absolute nightmare. I was super down on the band after Hartford. This show didn't help matters. I skipped all shows in '04. But dm&f was an effin blast.

Your buddy was wrong. He should have said "In 10 years, you'll be asking people if they were at this show."

I would respectfully like to say that, while it looked like a clusterfuck of epic proportions, I would've been there in a heartbeat given the opportunity. I'm sure none of what went down was a surprise to those of you that went, at some point that kind of thing should've been expected when planning to attend a show like that.

Some of you guys are spoiled to show settings and proximity.

Oh, I expected it to be a massive clusterfuck. And, in that regard I was certainly not disappointed.

Still one of the best (if not the best) DDTW performances ever released.

Out of 94 shows this is still probably my favorite I've attended. The entire experience was definitely unforgettable. The overall performance was phenomenal and the resulting live release really shines (the DVD especially).

I was there, security was a joke, we waited for over an hour to get in. 1st song i heard from inside was Crush. We were also so far back that we watched the monitors the whole time. With all that being said, we had a blast, one of my favorite concert experiences.

Cortez the Killer is my go to track from this show.

None of that sounds appealing.

I remember watching the webcast. Still one of the most energetic performances from them.

This show still has both my favourite Granny and Rhyme & Reason.

And I'm partial to this Cortez. Probably because it's the first one I ever heard.
